Blazers Fans, It has truly been a privilege

Thank you for all of your classiness, for your levelheadedness, and for being a great opponent. I hope that you will continue to bring the wonderful presence to the Dream Shake and to lighten our blog with your great comments. I truly shake at the thought of what the Trail Blazers are going to do next season. I've said it and I will say it again: Portland wins 60+ games next year and will be a serious, serious threat in the West.

Again, hats off to your fans for being classy and for a fun first round series. I feel like this will begin a friendly rivalry for years to come, and together our teams can destroy the evils of the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles L*kers (that asterisk is for you, Blazers fans!)

MUCH LOVE Y'ALL

STAY COOL, CLASSY, AND DON'T STOP TALKING WITH US!

-Max (UHoustonFan)

True

I hate them all to hell right now…..but in on Saturday I will root for the Rockets.

Same thought!

Another Rockets fan here. During the series it may have gotten a little heated with fans calling out players on both teams, accusations of flopping, and both groups thinking there was a conspiracy against their team, but at the end of the day we had two great teams battling it out.

I know this may not make this feel any better (trust me, I know I how it feels) but you guys have a lot to look forward to. Like Ron Artest said with the mike after the game, “Give Porltand a round of applause guys!” And we did. You should too.

Thank you for being good guys and good luck in the future (except when you’re playing the Rox! :P)

Peace out.

Great Post, from another Houston Fan

This may be the first time in all my years of watching the Rockets that I had this much respect for the fans of the opposing team at the end of the series. Overall, you guys know basketball and have alot of class and it has been a fun rivalry. Blazers are going to be scary next year. Not a single dirty player on your roster. Congrats on a great season.

Good Series.

You guys were due for it. Thanks for being gracious.

The Rockets are a dangerous team. You have a lot of underrated players who complement each other well.

Beat LA for their fans’ sense of entitlement.

Beat em, beat em, and keep beating em.

The Rockets had better beat the L*kers

That’s all I can say.

Thanks for stopping by.

You guys better take it this year...

Cause next year we’ll be back. More experience. More swagger come playoff time. However, that being said, F the L*kers.

It was a very entertaining series

especially for our first one in 6 years. I agree with your feelings about the L*kers and J*zz. Please, please, please kick K0be and the L*kers butt. We will be rooting for you!

Here is my Playoff mode signature, that I thought up myself: "Just Do It".

Please urge Ron to play the way he played today against LA

it completely changes your team. I don’t know why it took him six game to get it (or five and a half because he started last game). I wish he had waited a few more. If he plays this way, aggressive, toward the basket, you have a decent shot

Thank you good sir

And for being so gracious in victory. It’s refreshing in comparison to the fans of some other team whose name we won’t mention. Other than a few good natured jabs in the beginning that were probably misconstrued by folks on both sides, the Houston fans have made it a fun and friendly rivalry.

Now go kill the Lakers, I beg you.

Rockets fan here

Let me just say, it was rather unfortunate that the Rockets and Portland had to duel it out in the first round. I’m a big fan of Portland. You guys have some nice pieces and will have a great team for years to come.

Thanks for giving us a good series. You are all a class act. Having to deal with the likes of the Utah Jazz for the past 2 years, I must say you are all some classy folk.

Thanks again!

rock on in the playoffs

It is the NBA’s loss that the Blazers have bitten the dust already, while other lesser teams will move forward into the second round (Rockets excluded – they played a fine series and beat the Blazers fair and square). Too bad we had to play each other in the first round. Maybe next year we will meet in the WCF. – Elgin

When I was forced to live in Houston

I went to Rockets games and cheered them on (except when they played the Blazers). I will now quit calling them the “Rockettes” since the series is over. Easy transition -

GO ROCKETS! BEAT la!

Go Mavs!

Wait, wrong thread? Okay, beat LA! Beat LA!

It has been a fun challenging series, that will benefit both teams going forward. I also enjoyed the most of the time very intelligent and entertaining debate between the fans of both teams even if we had to agree to disagree on some things.

Congrats to Houston. Beat LA!
Going forward Blazers have 5 draft picks, and Rockets have none :)

by Norsktroll on May 1, 2009 10:06 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Jokin' aside, I would not be shocked to see the Mavs in the WCF.

All-Texas WCF, with the winner humbling the Cavs? Not bad for sloppy seconds!

"I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em."- Jimmy V

Go Blazers!!

I really wish we could've met in the WCF. Damn those Hornets and their missed FTs in game 82!

But yes, it was both a gripping and agonizing first-round tilt. I don’t have admiration for the aesthetics of Rockets basketball, but your team’s grit and determination is admirable. I have my doubts about your chances against L.A. but will be ecstatic if you can kick some arrogant L*ker butt. As always their fans deserve to be knocked down another peg or two.

Except for Von Wafer, I really like your players, especially Scola and Shane Battier. That guy (Battier) is a winner and I hope he keeps winning this season. I find Yao, well, boring to watch, but if he can dunk on Bynum I’ll get excited.

Best of luck!

Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.

by Badalona Baddie on May 1, 2009 11:23 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Funny how feelings change

I was really pulling for you to win the last game of the season. Then I wanted Houston to die a horrible agonizing death in embarrassing fashion in a first round playoff sweep exit.

Now I want them to win again. Good luck in round 2.

by T$ 225 on May 1, 2009 11:34 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

yes this was a loss, and if Michael Finley's stupid 3 hadnt gone in we would have demolished the Spurs in 5 games,

but I’m also kind of glad our guys had this experience. This Houston team was one of the worst match-ups we could have had, and the end result just emphasizes this. But I think our guys really grew up in this series. They were forced out of their comfort zone, forced to adapt, forced to play a style of game they hadnt before. So this I think will be a valuable learning experience. The dialogue with the Dream Shakers has been great! You guys are a fun fan base to spar with. Good luck in the next round vs the Fakers! I am now officially rooting for Houston to go all the way!

I'm having a hard time

Being buddy buddy right now, call me childish or whatever, but right now Houston is basically the guy that stole your girlfriend, for me it’s hard to be cool with that guy right away no matter how good of a guy they are.

What a series. You deserve the victory. You played harder for longer. Again, what a series. Now go out there and destroy the L*kers.
