L*ker$-Jazz Open Thread/Live Blog

Thought that as there wasn't one yet, I'd open up a thread for game 4 of the series to determine which team plays Portland in the second round (I Still Believe!).

Here's how it's gone so far:

Game 1: at LAL
LAL 113, UTA 100 - Final

Game 2: at LAL
LAL 119, UTA 109 - Final

Game 3: at UTA
UTA 88, LAL 86 - Final

Star-divide

Fakers win 108-94, and will likely wrap it up Monday at home....

This sounds wrong, but GO JAZZ!

Remember this Kobe?

Phil or Sloan?

Also Sloan

Works out like crazy. I have a friend who works down at the Riverplace Athletic Club, and the Jazz always stay in the hotel there. Apparently Sloan is out there every morning at 5 AM or so pumping iron….

Jordan Farmar - Available?

Watching this series/reading up on what’s going on in L*cker land, it looks like Shannon Brown has supplanted Farmar in King Philip’s mind, and Farmar is none too pleased. Farmar is my “favorite” (if you can call it that, lol) L*cker, and having seen him in college and the pros, he seems like he would be a good fit in the Blazers system. I know it’s playoff time and trade/FA talk can wait, but I think this is somewhat intriguing. Of course, there is the fact that the L*ckers have no incentive at all to give the Blazers a piece they could use, but it could be something worth pursuing.

I believe in Greg Oden. To all the haters - get down with the program or stay off the wagon for all time. #52

I like Farmar as well, but he has definitely regressed this year

with the backup PG already clogged up with 2 guys who have been underperforming I don’t like the prospect of adding another guy who fits that description.

But on the other hand Farmar has shown he can be more productive than anything Sergio or Bayless has ever done in the NBA.

by trailblazersfan on Apr 25, 2009 9:08 PM PDT up reply actions

The Portland Trail Blazers already have a backup point guard on its team, with that being Steve Blake.

Rather than go after some reclamation project in Jordan Farmar, Kevin Pritchard needs to finally bite the bullet and acquire a tall, defensive-minded point guard who can stick it from beyond the arc.

That man is none other than Kirk Hinrich.

Oh, and for all the Jerryd Bayless and Sergio Rodriguez fanboys out there, y’all must cut through the tripe and admit to yourselves that neither one of them are the future. In fact, they’re both busts.

by AK1984 on Apr 26, 2009 6:06 AM PDT up reply actions

Farmar is 100% definitely available, but he isn't right since the injury...

Besides, we already have Rex, who has megapotential. The defects to Rex’s game are the same as those of Farmar’s (i.e. perimeter shooting).

Pontiff of the Pryz for Prez Posse...

Long term

I think I am seeing Farmar as a backup to Bayless, and potential stop-gap starter as Bayless continues to develop. However, I doubt he ends up in Portland.

The Jazz are a frustrating team

turnovers, missed free throws, AK47 shooting jumpers. Could have easily taken advantage of some sloppy play by LA

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
