Can we lay off the jumpers?
This is a great jump shooting team...but the shots we should be taking are pretty much only when someone is wide open for three. We shouldnt be jacking shot after shot up. We need to get this team in foul trouble just as they do us. They are experienced and often put their heads down and bull rush the basket. The Blazers gotta force the refs to blow the whistle, because right now The Rockets physical style of play is getting the benefit of the calls. They are allowed 100% more contact before a whistle is called.
Right now the Rockets are winning the game in the game(hence the 2-1 series advantage despite being tied 3-3 in pts in a half). A good way to combat this without experience/savvy is to put your head down and drive to the lane hard. BRoy shouldnt be the only guy doing this. Hes got to protect his body more than anyone else.
To anyone who says that it was Rudy who got us back in the game with long jumpers...I agree! Those should be however some of the few long jumpers we should be taking. Wide-open shots with our better shooters. We should be much more mid-range and attack the basket plays. At first it migh tlook ugly but the refs and the Offense will come around! Be strong and muscle through the adersity of shot blocks and swallowed whistles! It will pay off within a quarter!

A 100% more contact?
Where did you get that stat?
Boo you Mike Stoops! Boo you!
It's an eye test. Glad to see you following me around.
I have a fan!
"Both Anthony Carter and Jameer Nelson were downright jubilant in the Magic locker room postgame. Carter said to no one in particular, "Brandon Roy, that man is unstoppable, it's like he's playing NBA Live" and Nelson was cracking on his teammates for not being able to guard Brandon. The kinds of jokes you can make when you win."

If your going to propose an argument about shooting too much
At least use stats that support your argument, and at least real ones.
Boo you Mike Stoops! Boo you!
I used stats in my last post with Outlaw
Same meaningless posts by JinBinO….thanks brother!

really? a bunch of haters
everyone here sounds bitter an dits lame. every post i’ve read today has comments like this. ball slaps are starting to become like a good idea 4 everyone here. and what everyone says on other blogs about the ppl on BE are exactly all these posts & comments are about. comment on the blazers. leave it at that. let other people worry about policing. i’ve heard too many people say they are afraid to post their feelings/thoughts here on BE for fear of the ‘’locals" or "commoners" jumping on them and ridiculing them beyond belief. we all love our blazers, but what about unfamiliar blazer fans. can’t we all get along?
I agree
I do not know who you are talking to here, but I agree.
People start name calling on this board and topics get closed when there are legit issues to talk about. I personally could care less about the people coming on this board saying that I am stupid or irrational or based on my feeling about a player. If I feel a player can contribute greatly by having hustle and desire I am going to state my opinion.
Name calling is a control tactic.

You really, really don't need to use stats in this arguement.
We are taking too many jumpers.
And the 100% more contact “stat” is not to be taken literally is it? It’s a guess.
Land was created to provide a place for boats to visit.
Precisely
Then again I guess I could have spent time finding out the psi measurements taken during the game of each slap. Sorry folks.
In all actuality this guy has been trolling my posts. I guess he is mad at the the few Travis bashing threads I have created, which I think I have created 2 in my lifetime…That’s ok. Some are going to get upset when their players are “attacked”.

Either they stop jacking jumpers or they will have lots of time in the off-season to study what has gone wrong...
Pontiff of the Pryz for Prez Posse...
short and sweet. Exactly!
I feel like there is a shell they need to crack…they take a few swipes and it does not crack so they give up. They don’t know it’s just a few more tries away. Don’t quit! Put the pressure on!

Pick and roll
Constantly and ruthlessly. Who sent the rockets home in the first round year after year? The pick and roll magicians themselves, Utah. I cannot believe this team doesn’t use the pick and roll as a staple for its offense. Why put the burden for creating offense on our two stars when everybody can get involved in the scoring by pick and roll? Greg oden can get 15-20 points per game if he’s fed the ball consistently while rolling.
Hmm....
It took Nate 72 games to try speeding up the tempo…He might come around to trying this next year in the playoffs.

The Blazers should stop taking so many 2-point jumpers
I have no problem, however, with them taking as many or even more 3-point jumpers than they did in game 3. There really is an enormous difference in efficiency between 2-point jumpers and 3-point shots, and I think most people significantly underestimate how big that difference is. The offense should be trying to create as many open 3-point shots as it can for the Blazer shooters.
So you are saying less jumpers, right inside of the 3 point line?
Hahah I havnt like that shot for a long time….maybe if its the only thing available and its extremely wide open….sure. Not 6+ times a game.
