who remembers the 1995-1996 Blazers?
I was in 4th grade and living overseas, so it was really hard for me to follow the team, but I remember checking the score every morning on CNN/Headline News bottom line and seeing that the Blazers rolled off like 20 out of 24 or something ridiculous like that to end the year and make the playoffs. They then lost the first 2 games in Utah, but then won games 3 and 4 at home, only to get blown out in Game 5 at Utah.
I think the only game I got to see of that entire season was Game 5. And if memory serves me right, there was another Game 5 that preceded it, which ran long, so by the time NBC got to the Blazer game, it was the end of the 1st quarter and the Blazers were down 15.
For whatever reason I really liked Rod Strickland. I don't remember exactly why. Anyway, like I said, I didnt get to see many games that year, but I do recall them going on some ridiculous hot streak to end the year.
Can anyone reflect on that team? Was the end of the regular reason great to watch? I would just like to hear what people remember from that team.

All I know is Sabas was my hero & Rod Strickland came to Sellwood middle school at some point 94 I think I was in 8th grade
I modeled my game after his I was a 6’1" post player in my high school & boys & girls club leauges. He inspired me to work on some freaky passes out of the post. Its a lost art if you ask me.
i have a ball auto'd by that year's team
fun to watch…don’t remember it very well, as i was pretty young, but yeh…great group of guys.
Goodbye Deke. The NBA will miss Mt. Mutombo.
Rod Strickland was insanely fun to watch
but tended to try and take over games by himself, much like Damon later.
I remember that game when we got blown out
At the time it was the least points ever scored by a team in the playoffs. I know everyday is a great day to be a Blazer but that game was dissapointing.
I also remember Jermain played really well in that game and from then on I wanted the Blazers to play O’neal, but it never happened.
There won't be clean officiating in the NBA until David Stern is forcibly removed by the US Congress in 2013 for fixing games.

I remember
that season for Sabonis’s long overdue arrival. Too bad it didn’t happen four to five years earlier.
I remember that game
We totally crapped the bed. It was pretty disappointing. That’s about all I remember. I was 11.
