This guy is a class act. I'd say him winning this award is very timely and very well-deserved. Big ups to this man. From the Houston Chronicle: Mutombo will receive the J. Walker Kennedy Citizenship Award from the Professional Basketball Writers Association on Friday, becoming the first player to ever win the award, given since 1975, twice. Mutombo worked for more than a decade to raise funds to build and open the $29 million Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital and Research Center in Kinshasa, of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He personally donated approximately $19 million, and continued to work to raise money for its soaring operating costs, launching a grass roots fundraiser March 27.
