Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

A good read from Scott Howard-Cooper at SI

I don't care. OK, Houston 108, Portland 81 in a calamitous Saturday night. I'm still loving the Trail Blazers. Loving the talent, loving the personality, loving the coaching, loving the front-office decisions.

Great article.

Makes me extremely excited (as if I already wasn’t) about the years to come.

Nice read.

Everybody gets love, front office down to blazermaniacs.

We even got love from Popovich.

It's an important and true perspective.

This team is still a work in progress. It’s easy to think they’ve arrived when really, they’re barely out of the starting gate.

that was a good read

and puts a lot into perspective. True if we lose tonight and get swept I will be disappointed, but only in our playoff performance, not the regular season performance.

Anybody who can call themselves a true Blazer fan CANNOT say that they were disappointed by the results of this season. We are sooooo on house money that it is not even funy.

Pick your descriptor, on house $, gravy, sprinkes, cherry on top, whip cream, etc. That is what this season has been once we got into the playoffs. Even 1 win will be FAR more than half of us even expected.

The juggernaut comment was nice. I can imagine that next year they will pair us against the Cavs or l*kers or whomever the champion is and we will have to go through the same thing we went through this year, those 1st game big stage jitters and then procede to reel off a 25 game winning streak on games 2-26 and will finish with 60+ wins and blow by the l*kers while K*be watches on in Armani as it will be the downfall of his career.

Thank you for that!

Reminds me that even if we were swept, we have one of the brightest futures in the league.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Yes!

Thanks for posting this. I was about to say something similar in my first FanPost, but the SI writer said it better than I could.

I love this: “Without coming close to touching the ceiling, with inexperience and injuries, the breakout season many predicted materialized as if everything had broken right.” And, of course: “We’re not at the future yet.”

As SpyderRyder said, it’s house money, it’s all gravy now.

Just imagine what another year or two years can, and probably will, bring: Greg with a polished offensive game; another gunner when Martell returns (can Nate juggle the minutes at SF and keep everyone happy?); continued development of Nicolas; of Sergio and Jerryd (same question, though: minute distribution at PG?); LaMarcus’ continued move to his ceiling since he’s not yet there; the beauty that is Brandon’s game; and, perhaps most important: more time for this team to learn to play together, especially on the defensive end.

Hang on, folks. The ride is just beginning. And it’s gonna be great!

Open to playing some ping pong (uh - table tennis) with anyone who's interested. cdd37@yahoo.com

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
