Support The Blazers
I've posted before that often within Blazer's Edge I feel a little out of place. Like maybe I've accidently sat down at the "cool kids" table. Suddenly everyone get's quiet and get's up and moves. I fully admit that often going through posts of others, I realize that while I am a fan, I'm not as big a fan as many within Blazers Edge. I love The Blazers and have followed them most of my life, but somehow even that devotion seems to pale to the support I see many Blazer Edge regulars demonstrate. But I'll tell you something, today, right now, I'm happy to be here.
I'm happy to be here because of the support. I'm so disgusted and disappointed right now at a lot of the media and a lot of the local "fans". Other sites that shall remain unnamed seem filled with people that have given up. It doesn't suprise me that a lot of the national media have jumped ship. The Blazers have gone from Dark Horse Darlings to The Team Houston is going to beat before they go on to "scare" LA. This after only 48 minutes of play. But that's the nature of the beast. But what really disappoints me is the number of local fans that seem to have totally given up.
I knew Blazers Edge would be different. I expect the support to flow from this site until the final buzzer of the final game and beyond. That's mostly what I see and hear. So even though I don't own stuffed characters of Clyde and Buck and I don't fondly dust my 1976 commerative Blazers Playoff 7-UP bottle maybe I could eat my lunch at this table?
Do I know how this playoff series is going to play out? Nope. But I know I'm going to support The Blazers and believe they can win each game, whether the ball get's thrown up in the air to start 3 more games or 7 more games. I may NOT be the biggest fan The Blazer have, but I am a fan that believes you support your team unconditionally and completely throughout the playoffs.

We will never give up!!
Go Blazers!
also, I too find it funny that the media no longer thinks we can win. It actually feels more familiar and I like it. Everyone loves the underdog!! Lets go!
I Blazersedge daily, nightly and ever so rightly.

I love it
I’m not an old school Blazer fan by any means. I came on board right before draft 2005. But I really honestly love this team and how it was put together. I did hang my head low and sulked out of the RG on Saturday night (after time expired AND NOT ONE SECOND SOONER!!!). It was a painful display. But there are no regrets on being there or on having renewed my season tickets for next year. This is a great run and I’m going to enjoy it the way the teams play it.. one game at a time..

I agree whole-heartedly
I’ve been a fan since Diapers, and even at the age of 3 i felt the heartbreak in the finals against MJ. I honestly dont have any regrets at all for buying game 1 tickets even at the outrageous price, because getting to see those “Playoff 2009” logos on the floor of the Rose Garden made it all worth it.
The goal was the playoffs, and we’ve reached that goal, so we should be very proud of our guys. That showing last night wasn’t anything to be proud of, but as fans we need to show appreciation for the whole body of work, and not just that small sample.
I believe the Rose Garden will bring the same support in game 2 that it brought tip-off of game 1. We aren’t the bandwagon fans the media thinks we are, we’re not just going to jump ship, because I can confidently say that most of us have nothing but love for this team.

There to final buzzer....
I know my team didn’t bring it on Saturday, but I was there cheering to the final buzzer. Let’s just add salt on the wound by leaving before the fourth quarter begins.
Seeing people leave early just irritated me, were these people not the same ones at the 15k+ rally at Pioneer Courthouse Square. I saw a bunch of priveledged season ticket holders who hopped off the bandwagon as quickly as they got on.
Us BEdgers are the real fans, not those doom and gloom idiots posting on ORLive, let it be known…Tuesday will be the day the Rockets get their biggest arse whooping of the season.
Twin Towers will shadow the so called Great Wall of China.

I stayed till the end, too
but I couldn’t really blame anyone for leaving with a few minutes to go.
It was ugly.
And seeing Ruffin’s 5 rebounds didn’t really make my day.

Losing game 1 in a 7 game series isn't the end of the world
It’s way too early to give up on the season and even if we lose the series you know that will just motivate BRoy and LA to work even harder over the summer. Another reason to be optimistic is that hopefully next year will be the year of Oden, where we see his explosiveness and quickness start to come back and a summer of work where he can develop a semblance of a post game.
Keep the big picture in mind, we are ahead of where we want to be right now, just getting to the playoffs was the goal for this season.

Regular Blazer fans are happy that we got to the playoffs
Bedgers know that the only reason you should be happy to get to the playoffs is so you can make a run for the championship.
Tupcac McDinosaur here to say,
David Stern better get out the way,
The rest of the league better exit the fray.
uh-yea
The Nuggets we rolled so tight!
Burned them so bright
we didn't even need a flash-a-light.
UH-oh yea!
RAWR, we need Mawr!
to the Rockets we declare Wawr!
Leave them in a wake of Gowr!
Their stomachs all be a sinkin!

If you want something to be positive about
Just look at the big picture. This series does not look promising, but our future could not be brighter.
