Which upset loss was the worst this weekend? W/ Poll

Its easy to feel doom and gloom about how are Blazers got manhandled, C'mon there were some major first round upsets in games 1 of the playoffs. If we think back over the years there almost always have been upsets with teams losing there coveted home court advantage.

Lets start with the Bulls vs Celtics, Yes we lost but look at the expectations Boston fans have and the roster they floor every night. They laid an egg and lost home court, they let a rookie scorch them.(Nice job to the bulls btw)Who's fan base should be more down Portlands fans because of the hype around are team or Boston fans with another championship on there minds.

I think the Mavs vs Spurs is the next upset that really should be a shocker The only hope that the spurs had was to hold home court. This series is over by default  the spurs just do not have the where with all they once did. Spurs fans have to be realising it was a great run but its done.

76ers vs Magic may turn out to be the best series of the opening round I thoink the magic are head and shoulders better then the 76ers but losing a comfortable lead the way they did.  Portland played like deer in headlights but what do you say about the Magic? Mental midget syndrome, they may not be able to overcome that loss and it would be too bad but they did it too themselves.

Rockets vs Portland I will try not to be to homerish but that game was what it was, all the prep rallys and preperation from an expierianced coaching staff cannot prepair a team for the intensity of the playoffs. Youth was served but shouldent be an excuse in the future. Portland just got there first taste of brussel sprouts and spit them out on the plate. NO NO NO young men you pick that up and put it back in your mouth. There are lots of things in life we dont like but must learn to like because there good for you, they make you stronger healthier and wiser.

(Didnt know brussel sprouts could do all that did you?)

Instead of dwelling on our upset loss(if it was that) who do you all think will have the toughest road back from there upset loss?

ours was the worst by far

While there were upsets and blowouts, we were the only ones to get blown out on our home court.

The rockets never let up

I hope Portland if in the same position trys to run the score up on them also. I dont totally blame the rockets, Portland has made coming back from huge deficits the norm the last month of the season.

I try to help with everything," Fernandez said. "If the coach says go rebound, I go rebound. I work for the team.

""If I'm playing this game to get media and attention, I shouldn't be here," Aldridge said. "I'm here to play basketball, and do what I can do to help this team win."

not only do the blazers make alot of comebacks

but the rockets have given up way way way to many leads this season. i dont want to sound mean but as a rockets fan it was really good to not see them let it. its the playoffs and anything can happen (its where amazing happens remember?). The nuggets didnt really let up against the hornets, but orlando did and they ended up losing.

counting out the spurs is not wise

They don’t need homecourt advantage to win. But even if they lose, it’s not a shocker either, because all of the teams 2-7 are very evenly matched.

also a scary fact

In 2003, 2005, and 2007, the spurs lost the first game in the first round at home, each year. If you dont recall, the spurs won the championship each year.

Same trend this year, but they arent the same team with ginobili. Dallas in 6 which i said before the series started

appel and Texas

Those are good comparisons, they just look done. Maybe they come back but this team looked old down the stretch Duncan looks outta gas I know he is fighting injury but he looks like he is playing on old legs. After Duncan and Parker wheres the fire power consistantly come from?

i like the sound of my last name with texas

maybe i should marry a stripper named Texas?

yeah, i think/want Dallas to win too, but i just have this feeling that Pop will out coach Carlise, and there will be Bonner and Mason game winning threes.

The Mavs are the anit-spurs right now (freewheeling, chaotic), and it’s working, Barrea is a stud.

Thought about a poll

but Im actually just trying to get Blazer fans to look at other teams upsets this weekend and forget about ours.

Kinda like the cure for the hangover I had sunday morning,,,,,,,,,

Gotta be

The magic getting upset. The west is so tight that the better team that has HCA usually only has like, one game over the team they are facing off against. No better example exists than the Rockets-Portland matchup. One game before the end of the reg. season the Rockets were perched near the top of the west and with one loss, suddenly they are supposedely underdogs. No shame in the “upset”, but in the East, there is far greater differential between teams.

by MissingNo. on Apr 20, 2009 12:01 PM PDT reply actions

i disagree about the magic

the sixers matchup well with them cause they have good guards to run the offense (miller and lou williams), a game changing sg (igoudala), and bodies on the front line that can rotate on dwight (evans, dalembert, speights, and ratliff). Plus the magic arent that good anymore, theyve been reeling in the last month, and as a rockets fan i know that alston is not a good pg. I think orlando vastly overpaid for him in a desperate situation. He has horrible shot selection and can singlehandedly ruin a teams offense. 5-15 yesterday including 2-6 3pt. That is a normal game for alston and he can not lead a team even though he has good ast/to ratios. If they still had nelson the loss would have been a surprise, but they also probably would have had the 2 seed by a couple games. Orlando cant do anything this year in the playoffs

I wonder about the Magic also

they had a commanding lead in that game and just let the 76ers right back in. I think of all the playoff upsets the Magic should be the best equiped team to charge back in the series and take control. Its all mental now they are physically a much better team then Philly.

Voted Magic

Yes we lost by 12,000 at home, but we lost to a team that is equal to us.

The Magic lost to a team that ended the season awful (beating the Cavs second unit doesn’t count for anything.) The 14 point lead going into the 4th also played into my decision.

i was surprised

how soft the blazers were on the national stage, the rockets kicked them down and let them know who’s in charge.the horror on the faces of the people at the rose garden was priceless this team was humiliated and i hope for their sakes they man*up tomorrow night.thank-god the game is on nba.tv just in case they get embarrassed again.blazers just man*up guys period fans too all of you just man*up period.

I with you, Im going to man up at the game if my voice ever comes back from saturday night.

I couldn't understand why Bulls vs Celtics was so suprising...

With KG out the Celtics are very beatable.

The Portland loss and the Magic loss were the biggest shockers for me.

I honestly thought the bulls would win the series,

so i had to pick rockets over us. They just killed us in everything, plus beating our A _ _ at home by almost 30.

Momma.....der go dat man
