Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Cover story on Yahoo! Sports NBA page. I doubt it reveals anything we don't already know, but it is yet another outside perspective which is always nice to see.

Enjoy!

It does reveal something we didn't know

They start one rookie (forward Nicolas Batum) and count three others (Rudy Fernandez, Greg Oden and Sergio Rodriguez) as rotation regulars

Who would have known Sergio was a rookie? Gotta love the MSM.

So when they say "attended to by a trainer"...

he wasn’t stabilizing his neck to prevent spinal injury, but more likely standing nearby scrunching up his face and shaking his head while trying to suppress his laughter and muttering “oooooohhhh…duuuude…..owwwwwwww”.

and thus the laughter

"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.

"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."

-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

Quote!
Rip City roars once again. The Blazers have rushed into the playoffs for the first time in six years, awakening what had long been one of the league’s most fervent fan bases.

THEY HAVE NO IDEA!!! Just wait. It gets better.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
