How much are you willing to pay for Playoff tickets?
First off this post is not about me selling any tickets. I don't have any tickets to sell.
Today I woke up at 4 am and began to get ready to head down to the Rose Garden to try and get playoff tickets. This was my plan until I logged on to Blazersedge and saw the post about the campers. I was silly to think that the 10 or so security guards could keep campers away until 6 am, so that's on me. It was a truly thrilling site to see so many Blazer fans lined up all night for just the chance at getting tickets.
Now that all the tickets have been sold, and are in the hands of the fans (or scalpers) I am curious what people are willing to pay for tickets. I've been searching online to see the prices for tickets and they are a little out of my budget. I am wondering though how many fans are really willing to pay $150 for a $25 dollar ticket. If these tickets don't get sold maybe the prices will be driven down. Classic over saturation of the market.
So to complete my curiosity test I have a poll.

I had this discussion with a friend under the following scenario...
Assume the Blazers win the first round in 5 or 6 games, looking extremely solid in the process. The L*kers similarly breeze through the first round and we meet in the 2nd round.
Now say the Blazers steal one in L.A., coming home tied 1-1 with HCA. The city is going crazy. You and a friend have a chance to buy two courtside, floor-level tickets. How much would you pay per ticket?
My friend and I each ballparked it at around $1000, but if the time came to actually shell that out I probably wouldn’t go that high. The thought of losing a game I paid $1000 kills me. $850 or so is probably more realistic.

that's exactly it for me
and the reason I decided not to splurge on courtside tickets a couple of times.
If it turned out to be a crappy loss, I’d be too annoyed.
My $25 seats are good enough.

Face value, since thats what I get them for.
I have people begging me for tickets already and offering 60-100 bucks (20 dollar tickets).

If the tickets included airfaire and accommodations
I’d go Jennifer Connelly in Requiem for a Dream for four two courtside tickets.

I'm just finishing my trip itinerary for this trip
And you’re right. The airfare, rental, and accommodations are gigantic. Portland loves to tax tourists, I always forget that.

I think I'm going to wait until gameday
and hopefully some of these prices will go down. If not it’s cheap beer, a comfy couch, and the nice TV. I just wanted to be able to scream during the game w/o upsetting the neighbors. I guess my neighbors are going to be the real losers in this hypothetical.

Totally
I just browsed around the listings on the ticket resale center, to see what people are charging for similarly situated seats and I was appalled at what people are charging. I think 2x, maybe 3x if they are really good mid-level seats, is the max that people should realistically expect to get for their tickets. Especially this early on (what, do you people think we’re not going to make it past the first round?). I have a feeling that come game day, people are going to have to drop their prices if they aren’t planning to go to the game themselves.

I just took a journey around craigslist
and most other cities fans are selling their tickets for face, or close to face value. I saw tickets for the Nuggets vs. Hornets game for $10. Crazy, crazy blazer fans overvaluing their tickets like their players =)

I voted
for $150 even though money is an object for me since I am losing my job next month. It is the Blazers, it is the playoffs, I can eat garbage for a month to go to a game.
Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

I'm suspicious
that some of those votes are sellers. But I also could be very paranoid

I sold my tickets
at close to double face value. I had them up for more, but they weren’t selling. I didn’t care to play the wait game as I’m hopeful for more games to help recover my season ticket costs.

Also
I don’t know how blazers are NOT making a killing.
15% charge to person buying
10% charge to person selling (new starting at playoffs)
$6 handling fee
Plus… they’d already SOLD the ticket in the first place.
So… $85 ticket.
Blazers – $85 (kaching!)
Seller sells for $200 – blazers get $20 (SWEET)
Buyer buys for $200 – Blazers get $30 (such delicious money)
Buyer pays: $236.
Seller pays: $105
Seller makes: $95
Blazers make: $135
The goal is not to be better, the goal is to be the best.

it looks like I will have have 2 red section
tickets for sale. Two of my roomies aren’t going.
I camped out to get them, 13 hours. So yes, I want to make money off of them. If someone is interested make me an offer that is reasonable, based on the selling prices of other similar tickets (not reasonable in a real sense).
