The non classy JD 4/16
I'm starting to hate the word "classy". I think i've read it about seven hundred and fifty nine thousand times in the last three fanpost i've looked at. Seriously, classy people/things/teams don't need to be told that they're classy; they already know it, and they're not going to talk about it. Yep, if your really classy then you wont be talking about how classy you are. And if someone compliments you by calling you classy, don't be lazy and call them classy back. At least think of something original to say to them... lazy and classy don't mix. And yes I realize how unclassy this post is. But feel free to class it up with something good.

You're right.
Not a very classy post.
But it’s cool. Not everyone has that touch of class.

This is an odd JD conversation.
Someone who was classy wouldn’t care.

To me it is like a server putting in a good word for their tip. Good service and good fanposts don’t need begging. Their work should speak for itself and be rewarded accordingly.

An interesting angle that I haven't seen talked about anywhere
is how the GMs of the Blazers and the Rockets matchup. KP and Morey (along with Presti, but his team isn’t any good) are the poster children for the new breed of GM who embraces the use of properitary non-box score statistics to help make roster decisions. As such Houston may be specially equiped to deal with that gets through at them during the playoffs, or maybe our statistical kung fu is stronger than their kung fu.
We shall see.

I get it a little.
I think a small section of Blazers fans out there are already looking to the Lakers series without considering this first round as being really, really difficult for Portland. I think it’s the worst first round matchup that was possible except Portland got home court.
I think Portland wins the series in 7, simply cause they’re playing so well right now that their inexperience and weaker play on the road against West contenders this season won’t be so glaring. But this is not going to be easy in the least. I expect there will be at least one or two instances when people may have some quiet inner doubts that the Blazers will be able to pull this off. But I think the team’s character and ability to win close games will allow them to do just that.
So I guess it’s not so bad that the Lakers feel like Portland can’t win this. I get that point of view, but I just don’t agree with it.
And maybe……….juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust maybe there’s a twinge of fear in the purple and gold hearts of Laker fan that their window may be closing faster than they had anticipated. :)

Timbo’s non-hatred (love?) of the Lakers is well documented, so it makes sense that he would migrate over there at least part time, but I didn’t think that he would become the most prolific commenter over there on Day 1.

Ainge had a heart attack they are reporting on espn
but he appears to be fine after a stint.
Other stuff on my mind – both McRoberts & Diogu finished the year with serious upswings. Good for them.

McRob
Last game of season: 3 blocks, 2 steals, 2 assists, 3/5 shooting in only 16 minutes. He was an absurd +22 for the game. (Jack did OK too: his shooting was off 1/8, but his passing was on with 10 assists. He was +9 for the game.)
Diogu we’ve probably heard about. he ripped the Nuggets for 32 and enough rebounds to grab a double double. The Nuggets cared about this game too, so it was hard points, not easy ones. His final game was 28 points and enough rebounds for a double double again. He went off. Maybe all of that time in practice against GO/LMA has helped him while he was on the bench for so long. Anyway, they both finished the season on a high point and I’m happy for them.
Hopefully Ainge continues a speedy recovery.

Just got back from the rally
WHOAH.
So fun, so exciting, almost made eye contact with Nic, almost fainted, then recovered to see him glide to the bus. Wow.
Go Blazers. They better not let us down.

The only way they could let us down now....
is if the entire team were caught sacrificing a goat in a Satanic ritual while being involved in an orgy with 30 prostitutes, while shooting up heroin and snorting cocaine, 20 minutes before game 1 against Houston.
There’s been too much good stuff this season for me to consider this season anything but a success, regardless of what happens against Houston.

You're crazy
It would be sweet if the Blazers did all that.

I had a dream
That they did all that, but it was only 25 prostitutes and it was 30 minutes after game 2. Oh well it was close.

I saw a couple of minutes of it online.
Pretty lame stuff, glad I wasn’t there. Plus the reverb was annoying. Maybe it got better later.

the best thing about the event was the fans.. and i suppose someone saw players and the rest of us just got that feeling of being a part of something that will be better to say ‘yea.. i was there’ then it actually was to be there (but at least it was a nice day).

Greg Oden = Robert Parish (HOF, 4x NBA champion, 9x NBA All-Star). The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 65 blocks in under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946.

I sure miss the days when people posted junk in the Junk Drawer.
Now it’s in practically every fanpost and fanshot.
I thought I’d make a fanpost complaining about this, when I realized that it would be a little hypocritical. So I posted it here, where no one will read it, because the day is just about over, and tomorrow’s Junk Drawer will supercede this one.
I’m just a complainer at heart, I guess.
Of all the things that can be expressed in the printed word – love, hate, fear, joy – true humor is the one that is the most difficult of all. Sarcasm, for example, is an art of delicate subtlety. Yet too many people wield it as a bulldozer – loud, smelly, ugly, and destructive – and think they are being funny.

Stephen, the Blazers drafted Brandon Roy, Lamarcus Aldridge and Sergio Rodriguez. How do you rate them?
Stephen: I’m not even going to TALK about the Blazers, I don’t know what they were doing here. They’re not worth my time.
If you remember that, go ahead, click this link. Trust me. You won’t regret it.

I usually use the word classy as a sarcastic pejorative meaning classless.
Maybe I better stop using it in that manner in case someone actually thinks I mean classy.
