Greg Oden = Robert Parish (HOF, 4x NBA champion, 9x NBA All-Star). The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 65 blocks in under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946.

K I’m confused. If Portland wins tonight, aren’t they tied with San Antonio and Denver at 54 wins? NBA.com says first tiebreaker goes by ‘Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.’ By my count Denver will be 4-3 with a loss tonight, Spurs are 2-5 and Portland 5-3. This is for 2nd, 3rd and 4th seed, so division winners shouldn’t matter, as the division winner is only guaranteed nothing lower than the fourth seed. All the major media outlets have San Antonio locked into the 3rd seed already. Any one know how this works? I thought I did, but I must be missing something.

If the Houston Rockets beat the Portland Trail Blazers in six games, it'll be the second toughest sports ...

moment of the year thus far for me. The Washington Huskies loss to the Purdue Boilermakers in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament would stay in first place, of course. The only thing that could top that would be, well, a devastating end of the season for the Seattle Mariners.

The next day I walked out the front door and my skin was kissed by the rising sun, giving me a sensation that I hadn’t felt since I was a young boy. Somehow the air smelled sweeter than it had at any time for the last six years, and I was filled with a feelings of resolution and hope. At first it was like an allergic reaction, overwhelming in its sudden intensity. And that’s when I remembered it wasn’t a dream at all. The Trailblazers were in the playoffs!!!

In fact, here's a comment of mine from way back on 10/21/2008

I wouldn’t put either Steve Blake or Joel Przybilla in any trade proposal, as they’re important members of Portland’s rotation; instead, my deal included Raef LaFrentz’s expiring contract and the unproven, highly overrated Jerryd Bayless.

http://www.blazersedge.com/2008/10/21/640116/proposed-trade-idea#9510353

As it is, Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, Joel Przybilla, and Nicolas Batum are the four guys on this ballclub who I wouldn’t trade under any circumstances.

Greg Oden = Robert Parish (HOF, 4x NBA champion, 9x NBA All-Star). The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 65 blocks in under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946.
