Blackout question for Playoffs
Forgive me if this has already been covered elsewhere.
In light of the fact that KGW seems to have the rights to playoff games, does that imply that national broadcasts (TNT, ESPN, etc) will NOT be blacked out in the "local market" (which for some reason includes Seattle)?
I live in Seattle, refuse to abandon my Dish Network for the evil Comcast empire (on principle, but also on the reports that the picture quality is embarassingly bad anyway) and won't be able to sleep until someone confirms for me that when I go to watch the Blazers take it to the Spurs (or whomever) in the playoffs, that I won't get the incredibly enraging message "THIS GAME NOT AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING IN YOUR AREA."
Thanks for any clarity anyone here can offer.

PS I hate Comcast almost as much as I despise Clay Bennett.

national broadcasts
national broadcasts aren’t blacked out in local markets during the regular season any longer, so I would assume that it would not be any different during the playoffs. of course, if TNT or ESPN/ABC does not pick up the game (not sure how often that happens in the playoffs, but I seem to recall it happening occasionally) then you’d probably be in a blackout situation unless one of your local channels started broadcasting Blazers games all of a sudden.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Cardinals' middle relief corps.
A few first round games are broadcast on NBA TV.
Usually it’s a crappy series from the east coast, but there have been 1 or 2 games from the WC as well the last couple years. Hopefully the Blazers are considered exciting enough that they don’t get that treatment.
We'll get national treatment
So I wouldn’t worry. In any case, a sports bar will carry NBA TV…
Proud member of Duck nation!
No Playoff games in the NBA are blacked out
none, ever again.
so let it be written, so let it be done!
I'll be at a sports bore in SLC
watching and cheering. I suspect i’m going to be rather unpopular if the Jazz and Blazers ever meet. I seriously doubt that will happen and I’m drooling with anticipation at facing the lakers.
The goal is not to be better, the goal is to be the best.
I'll be a sports bore in PDX
Blazers win BDL 2 on 2 tournament!

I'm just hoping I can find a way to watch over the internet. If I can't I'm hosed
and I’ll be very, very, very upset.

When Outlaw wins a game on a last-second shot, it’s called an "annthefaneurysm". QualityPie
you'll be able to catch a feed, but the quality is usually poor, as you probably already know

Wow! Thank you! That site also has a link to ESPN programming.
I have NBA LP broadband but they black out games that are nationally televised and they aren’t going to offer any of the play off games on broadband so this will really help. Thanks again.
