Around SBN: The cost of firing vs. the cost of retaining head coaches

Later than usual, think people wanted it reviewed first this time?

Either way, good stuff.

This is one reason why I love the Blazers.

“I’ve got to put the power in power forward,‘’ Outlaw says, playing off the fact that most of his playing time the past two seasons has come at power forward instead of small forward. "I’ve got to lift the weights so they can’t bang me down low.’’

Also, this series is great but I do hope and have faith that Quik doesn’t cross the line and become a bad thing.

Przybilla said he hasn’t heard any rumblings from players, but reminded me that the locker room is the players’ “sanctuary” – their special place where they can act and say whatever they want. It was up to me to respect that privacy, he said.

I like the Behind the Locker room series

but the Yellow Mamba…really? That is really lame!

That's what I was thinking.

Regarding BRoy:"Another day, another buzzer-beater. This man is so clutch he sets his body clock to go off one second before his alarm does every morning."

Since K*be is known as the "Black Mamba"

Brandon needs to choose a nickname designed strike fear in the Southern African snake

(Here’s the short list)

Predators of Black Mambas include humans, birds of prey, foxes, jackals and mongooses

http://www.theanimalfiles.com/reptiles/snakes/mamba_black.html

Mambas (like all reptiles, and I have have no trouble referring to Bryant as a snake) tend to be sluggish and “easier to catch” when the temperature drops. So, maybe calling Roy “The Iceman” or “Mr. Freeze” would be apropos?

Mr. Freeze

LOL. Can we get somebody to photoshop B-Roy’s face onto Ah-nold’s body in that horrible movie please?

The Michael Ruffin of BlazersEdge, cuz Amlmart said so.

He's Mr. Cold-Mizer, he's Mr. Snow

Best. Movie. Scene. Ever.

Animated, or otherwise

I don't know what Quick is smoking

But Trout has NOT spent most of his time at the 4 this year.

On another note, maybe Quick should run his material by the players before publishing it? That would help gain some trust, would it not?

He could have them review it since it's not a newspaper article

But he probably still has a deadline with that column, which can be especially difficult to meet when you note the considerable length of the articles. Plus the players probably don’t want to have to read the column every time.

What Quick’s likely doing is writing notes down of conversations he hears and then if he gets a funny look from one of the players, he asks if it’s ok to put in the article. More often than not it probably is, but sometimes it won’t be. That’s really the best way to do it. Also, reporters that stay with a beat for a long enough time learn pretty quick what the players do and do not want discussed outside the locker room, so that probably makes some of his editing a bit easier.

Overall, I think the series is outstanding. A book with this kind of information would absolutely be a must-buy if he decides to come out with it.

Yes! Yes! In the face!

thanks for the link update

i’d given up on a post. I think you’re right and it was reviewed. I guess people don’t like the potty talk.

There is a theory in the O'Live comments

that Travis and Brandon were trolling Quick(sand)…
