Playoff Ticket Camping

Hey guys...

I know theres a few threads running about tickets, but I wanted this thread to be exclusively for people that were planning on camping out.  I thought this way we could help each other out by watching spots if someone had to use the bathroom.  We also could meet up prior to the Denver game so we could get to know each other and then recognize each other in line later.

How does that sound?

I'm torn...

I don’t know if we can do both. Watch Denver game and camp for tickets. I have a feeling the camping is going to be crazy….

I think there's a good chance

that the camping will commence immediately following the Denver game

Worth it?

Do you think its worth going if you’re not going to camp out? I heard there are about 1000 tickets available. If I don’t plan on camping out, how early do you suggest I show up? Go blazers!

You have to figure...

1000 tickets and if every person buys their 4 ticket max, thats only 250 people. I’ll be there at 4am.

I don't think camping out will be allowed

When I e-mailed the ticket office about it, they said the team was against an overnight camp-out. Here is what they told me, verbatim:

“it sounds as though people are not going to be able to camp out over night, but will be allowed to show up "at the first sign of daylight"…

So, I would recommend arriving as early as possible.”

Sunrise it is!

It sounds to me...

like they have no idea in place. Yesterday when I called they said you could show up any time. I’ll call again today in a bit and see if I can clarify.

I just called the ticket office

They said you cannot camp out on the Blazer’s property and a line will form at 6:00 am.

They said a organized line will form on the sidewalk.

I called the ticket office and talked to Stephen, so if this is all wrong blame him.

Why?

Its good PR, what better way to show “Rip City” is back by the fans camping overnight for tickets. I thought the local media would have been all over it.

Power to the people

often, when people plan a little bit, a line forms nearby (say, on Mem Coliseum property, which is owned by the City) and someone writes up a list showing the order. Then at 6AM, the whole line moves to the Garden box office. There’s potentially a bit of an issue in getting the people who didn’t line up earlier to acede to the will of the masses who camped, but the Blazers people MAY work with you on that.

I'm thinking of taking Thursday off to get tickets

You can contact me at markb424@yahoo.com if an BEdgers want to organize something, camping or otherwise…

Sending you an email...

Took Thursday off as well. I hope the post above by Torridjoe offers insight as to what happens. The box office said security would be handling how the line is set up.

Did anyone buy tickets

from the Ticket Resale Center on the Blazers website?

by Roybot on Apr 14, 2009 2:26 PM PDT reply actions

Let's build a Bedge Tent City in front of the ticket office..

I’ve got a little propane camp stove we can cook on…

Let’s all bring a bunch of 40’s and Swisher Sweets and spend Wednesday night there…!!!

I'm not teasing...

but we need to keep the alcohol under wraps… de-cant it into Gatorade bottles and such…

But Swisher Sweets, cans of baked beans and bratwursts… Does Wi-Fi work out there, we can bring laptops and watch games or tennis matches on Justin.tv

if we show up around 11 pm Wed. night

will they ask us to leave or call the cops on us for trespassing?

or will they let us camp there?

by tominrehab on Apr 14, 2009 3:22 PM PDT up reply actions

It's sounding like the Memorial Coliseum is the more likely spot for camping.

But it looks awfully far away on Google Maps.

by cafe_civet on Apr 14, 2009 3:31 PM PDT up reply actions

too far away

we gotta camp where the start of the line is… smack dab in front of the door leading into the ticket office…

ps.

I’ve snuck booze into many a Blazer games… I’m sure we can pull it off as long as we’re smart about it…

Are you reading the post above you?

Its not allowed by Rose Garden.

UPDATE

I talked to security and they were pretty informative. It is as Torridjoe menitioned above. At 6am they will usher the line in to the Rose Garden Property.

So Coliseum side?

There’s not going to be another line on the water fountain side is there?

If someone does end up

camping, can we set up a twitter or something to let us others know what the line is like? I would like to get there real early and wait, but I don’t want to head over there to find a line with 500 people in it.

who wants the job??

Frye-lock and I'm on top rock you like a cop
