Press Release Regarding Thursday Rally

The Blazers update their rally info:

BLAZERS TO HOST PLAYOFF RALLY ON APRIL 16

Tickets for first two games of ‘ Rip City Uprise' to go on sale that same day

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Trail Blazers will tip-off the postseason on Thursday, April 16, with an afternoon rally at Pioneer Courthouse Square , allowing fans to wish their team well before the Trail Blazers embark on their first playoff appearance since 2003.

**UPDATE**

The Trail Blazers RIP CITY UPRISE rally, in Pioneer Courthouse Square , will take place from noon-3 p.m. The event, which will feature music, contests, giveaways, video entertainment and appearances by alumni ambassadors, will be emceed by Trail Blazers play-by-play voice Mike Barrett and will feature an appearance by the entire Trail Blazers team and coaching staff at approximately 2 p.m.

***

Earlier Thursday, at noon, tickets will go on sale for the first two home games of the "Rip City Uprise" - a.k.a. the 2009 NBA Playoffs - at the Rose Garden. Less than 1,000 tickets are expected to be available for each game. Tickets will be sold exclusively at the Rose Quarter box office, with a maximum of four total tickets available to each customer.

"The rally gives us an opportunity to thank the NBA's best fans," Trail Blazers CMO Sarah Mensah said, "It's a chance to celebrate an incredible season, wish the team luck and build the excitement before the playoffs get started."

The 2009 NBA Playoffs begin on April 18 and 19. The Trail Blazers first-round opponent and game dates and times will be determined no later than April 15, after the conclusion on the NBA's regular season schedule.

The Portland Trail Blazers currently have a record of 50-28, and are on pace for their best regular-season finish since the 1999-2000 season. On April 5, they clinched a playoff spot for the 27th time in their 39-year history.

Playoff Tickets

Any other season ticket holders get the 4 extra tickets yesterday? I heard on 95.5 that a bunch got shafted.

by ptowncboy on Apr 14, 2009 9:01 AM PDT reply actions

Nope, there was a thread about it

A good number of us could never get through. Someone even said that they got through at 12:10 and they were sold out.

by Zaig on Apr 14, 2009 9:29 AM PDT up reply actions

Why didn't they update the blazers win count?

50 wins? That means the press release is almost a week old.

Does any one know....

How much playoff tickets are going to be? I have someone going to stand in line for me and I need to know how much money to give him.

by jenstcy on Apr 14, 2009 11:00 AM PDT reply actions

it's about a 50% higher than regular season tickets

i’m pretty sure there’s not too many left in the 300s since those usually go first.

if it wasn't for food, baby-making, and Blazers playoff tickets, i wouldn't be working

by broyposse on Apr 14, 2009 11:42 AM PDT up reply actions

Depends on the round

First round is same as regular season
Each round gets higher after that
Finals ends up being just over double regular season tickets

by Zaig on Apr 14, 2009 2:12 PM PDT up reply actions

1000 tickets available?

Guess my dreams of seeing a playoff game are now next to zero. Time to add another level to the RG, if we keep up this year’s success there will be no problem selling it out.

by Heartless on Apr 14, 2009 11:12 AM PDT reply actions

I'm paying scalper prices

Screw it, I’m going to the first playoff game in six years….

Bad Timing

How can people be at the Rose Garden to buy tickets at 12:00 AND AT THE SAME TIME be at Pioneer Courthouse Square for the rally at 12:00? Both are for the fans, you would think they would have timed them differently. Who else thinks this isn’t right?

I am agreeing with you.

Bad move blazers.

Maybe

They will make you start at the rally, hand out passes there and then watch the mad dash as people go from pioneer square to the rose quarter!

I hope I can get a bunch of championships, like 15. " - Greg Oden

Unacceptable

Yet again the Blazers fail to reach out to their fans in Hawaii

Is the limit...

4 per person or 4 per game??
