Thank You Travis Outlaw
Thank You Travis for a season of improvment and hard work. I remember earlier this year how i would allmost cringe when Trout had the ball, it was allways jab step - 19ft jumper. Which to his credit he is so long and jumps so high allmost no one can block it but come on when your a decent to good shooter you dont want your bread and butter to be a %40 jump shot. Look at Roy and LMA, they both love to shoot the jumper but understand that your bread is buttered in the paint. Trav is learning this as of late, the few games i get to watch (no comcast) lately Travis is still shooting alot of jumpers but it seems they are falling more regularly and he is driving to the hoop more than i have ever seen him. I can think of 2 seperate dunks that looked like something from NBA 2k9.
I am starting to see the player he is becomeing, i mean he plays the PF the SF and i have seen them play him at SG.(not this year though to my knowledge) He is getting better at defense, he is getting better rebounding, he is taking it to the hoop more regularly.......He is really starting to become something special. Plus he and Roy have a competition going about who is more clutch in the 4th quarter. Never hurts to have 2 clutch 4th quarter guys.
Thank you Trout and keep up the good work!
P.S. Thank you to my fellow Bedgers who have encouraged and motivated me regarding these "thank you" posts.

And then one to God, thanking him that the inanity is at an end.

Travis
has had a good season. His production leveled off but he has contributed to games more often than in the past when he’d have an awesome outing followed by four embarrassing ones.

Did the levelling off correspond with the pinky problem?
I love that Brandon busts his chops about him making excuses for himself.
That’s our job.
Travis strengths already make him unuaually valuable. He will be a sixth man winner as we get better and command more national media attention. His game is well suited to the award. His friendship and position in the team is pretty important ( reconciling Brandon and LMA).
I believe as we develop a more and more dominant interior defense, and as they play more and more together, his defense and rebound issues will become less costly.
TY Travis. You are a classy, fun asset on and off the court. Work hard this summer.
Bedge or go home.
you cannot POSSIBLY
guarantee that.

Nope, but now and again I do enjoy dabbling in a bit of hyperbole.
Yet, in all seriousness, Travis Outlaw is clearly shown to be laughably overrated by countless advanced metrics — including PER, Wages of Wins, various +/- stats, et cetera — regardless, casual fans seem to love him nonetheless. The other fallacy people toss out is that Outlaw is supposedly clutch in crunch-time situations, even though he’s shooting a paltry 40.3% so far this season in 130 minutes during that time frame according to http://www.82games.com
I’m of the thought that most people who’re enamored with Outlaw are ignorant to the nuances of the game. Sadly, basketball fundamentals like ball handling, getting teammates involved on offense, man-to-man defense, rotating on help defense, blocking out, and several other facets are unimportant to them.
So were in agreement then Shotgun.
Even if you did contradict yourself.
The SMOY award is like jr high school homecoming queen:
1. Don’t start.
2. Score a lot.
3. Be on a winning team.
4. Smile pretty.
5. Win
Bedge or go home.
Hyperbole is
THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!!

You are half right.
As the second unit develops they will need Outlaw less, and less; and unfortunately he hasn’t show an ability to work hard on the off-season and develop the other intangibles of his game. Most likely they will trade him, because if he were to stay here, he will become more and more a limited role player.
im glad hes taking it to the hoop more often, but he still needs to work on his defense in the off season

"Aneurysm".
When Outlaw wins a game on a last-second shot, it’s called an "annthefaneurysm". QualityPie

Travis has done a great job of maintaining his trade value this season!
Just kidding… He’s lookin’ good. Hopefully that pinky heals and his 3 pointer starts dropping again.
if theres one thinks travis really needs to work on, its BOXING OUT HIS FREAKING MAN!!!!!!!!
I love Trout and everything hr brings, but seriously. Odom had like 5 O rebounds just because of Trout. The coaches need to make this issue numero uno.
Agreed
Also, without any fanfare, his passing and movement without the ball has been improving steadily.

More Blazing, Less Trailing
On the contrary, Travis Outlaw's assists to turnover of 0.9 is unacceptable no matter how you slice it.
Except that his role is score score score
And, had he gone to college, he’d only now be in his second or third year in the NBA. I say we give Trav one more year. I think he’s starting to get that consistency. I just want to see him have more of those nights where he gets to the freethrow line 15 times.

great guy
can do a better job on the boards though, but the playoffs are coming so hopefully he’ll do more then.
With Travis and his jumpers, you live by the sword some nights and you die by the sword on others...
One thing Travis lovers and Travis haters should be able to agree on: Travis likes to use the sword…
A lot.

Travis is Travis.
I have noticed that as the second unit gets better ball movement, they don’t rely on Outlaws one on one moves as much.
With his hops, though, I wish he’d get more rebounds. At times he’s a liability out there.
This is warm and fuzzy, but you overlook the biggest thing he brings to the table
Travis,
Thank you for having the biggest balls on the team. Your testicular fortitude is an inspiration to us all.
