Lack of Punishment
I was thinking of last nights game against the L*kers and I believe there was a significant lack of punishing fouls and bullying tactics, in comparison to other games against the same opponent, delivered upon the Blazers. No uncouth or disrespectful comparisons. Just good hard basketball. Of course there were some flops. Some called, some not. But that is to be expected, and is of a different mindset. The Blazers have made great strides this year in standing up for themselves, and the crowd would be intimidating. Is this a change out of respect, fear, or just not wanting to look bad amid the backdrop of high character and dogged pursuit of a goal?

Last nights game
Was the best officiated game I have ever watched.

They did'nt let
Kobe get a way with 5 uncalled fouls. Like it. Did you see his frustration?

I missed a good portion of the third quarter
But I thought the rest of the game was pretty well officiated. There were a couple of calls that should have gone the other way for both teams ie the blocking call on Pau at the top of the key and Batums foul called on Kobes wild jumper

The LA Blogs were extremely upset about the officiating.
I guess that’s how you know the game was called fairly.

Thats funny
I have thought and said the same thing. 9 out of 10 games the Lakers get to mug the opposing team as the other team gets called for being in the vicinity of another player. They freak when they have to experience even fair calling.
"Both Anthony Carter and Jameer Nelson were downright jubilant in the Magic locker room postgame. Carter said to no one in particular, "Brandon Roy, that man is unstoppable, it's like he's playing NBA Live" and Nelson was cracking on his teammates for not being able to guard Brandon. The kinds of jokes you can make when you win."

Los Angeles and Portland both have tons mindless fans who absurdly complain about supposedly ...
biased officiating. As a NBA fan, Game 7 of the 1993 Western Conference Finals is the only contest that I vividly recall in which my favorite team (i.e., Seattle SuperSonics) was truly screwed over by the referees.
With Portland fans, however, it seems like any call that could’ve gone either way should always be in the Trail Blazers favor. That, of course, is blinded homerism for y’all.

to be fair
that’s more our announcers than our fans. And I think the fans wouldn’t worry so much about the officiating if it weren’t the focus of every single blazers’ broadcast. Mike & Mike kinda set the tone and plant the seed.
