Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Smack Talk from L*kers Ground dot Net

I've got some quotes from L*kers Ground to fire everybody up for tonight (not that anybody here needs encouragement!)

Lakers take this game easily. They are going to embarrass Portland tonight.

Last game it was all about ending the streak. Psychologically they were way to amped up and didnt' play their game. This game their heads are on straight - its about the playoffs - its about establishing their dominance over all comers. With the full squad back its no contest.

BLOWOUT.

Pryz is just begging for a beat down. I hope Pryz eats his words painfully, and that Mike Rice eats his microphone in similar manner.

Star-divide

112-102 Lakers in a game dominated by the Lakers from start to finish. It's getting close to the playoffs. They are coming out of the "toying with teams" mode. No worries at all.

(bleep) the Blazers. I wanna see Kobe make Roy look like a clown tonight, and Drew/Pau/LO need to wipe that smirk off Pryzbilla's face. They need to embarrass them in front of their fans and teach them to respect the big boys of the West!

(and keep using hard fouls to piss those pansies off)

The jailblazers and their fans became so annoying lately.

Let's beat them on the mouth.

With Bynum back, I'm fully expecting them to go up to Portland and play a statement game. I think it'll be a Laker 20+ blowout.

I could see the Blazers trying to go after our players and trying to hurt them due to the whole Rudy thing that happened last time. Even though that wasn't even a dirty play at all, everyone in Blazers world seems to think it was horrible.

To be fair, there's plenty of objective and even respectful talk about the Blazers on the L*ker message boards. But you don't wanna know about that, do ya?

GO BLAZERS!

Ha ha!!

True! …But who is this Pryz guy they keep talking about?

Remember that guy in HS who “looked” like a tuff guy…big, burly, football jock, etc?

That’s who the L*kers really are inside…and they know it! (they were shown it last year by Boston)

I had an incident when a “tuff” guy tried to disrepect me at my house at my party….He was at least 100 pounds bigger than me..I decided at that point..fight or flight…I stepped up and he then stepped down.

Joel is the guy no one messes with cuz they know he is a tuff guy to his core. He is my favorite player..in case you didn’t know :)

Go Blazers!

Other than death and taxes, only 4 things in this world are indisputable:
Brandon Roy is the BEST player in the NBA in the clutch.
Montana to Rice were the greatest to ever play the game.
The Four Horsemen of Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine and Avery were unstoppable.

I get depressed whenever see the several hundred obnoxious L*ker fans in the RG.

But then I brighten when I realize that they had to leave their homeland because life there is nearly intolerable, and that they can only truly express themselves twice a year.

(Of course, not all of them are ex-SoCalers. Some are dilettantes who place K*be fandom above the game of basketball.)

Laker fans are the worst.

They EXPECT their team to dominate, anything less and they cry. Blazer fans stick with the team through the wins and losses. Laker fans see Arizas hard foul and think Rudy is soft. We see it and think “Ariza is a punk”.

THey are so cocky. They are gonna get SCHOOLED tonight, and i’ll be there to love every minute of it!!!

Love the Blazers. Hate the Lakers.

by blazerlove1 on Apr 10, 2009 3:34 PM PDT reply actions

I lived there from '03-'06.

I was there when the L*kers were in the Finals in ‘04, I was there when they were also-rans (’06). I listened to much sports-talk radio on my interminable L.A. commutes. Depending on the team’s performance, the callers were alternately boastful or whining. Bandwagon jumping (on and off) was rampant. Some of their fans are cool and generally knowledgeable, but lots of them, especially the entitled twerps in the lower bowl at Staples, are a joke.

Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.

Greg Oden = Robert Parish (HOF, 4x NBA champion, 9x NBA All-Star). The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 399 rebounds, and 66 blocks, but under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946.

not to hurt Rudy, but it WAS with some anger and no need to foul that hard.

That really makes us all look good now doesn't it.

I don’t think he meant to put Rudy in the hopspital. Yeah, he’s an immature punk and fowling hard was what he intended, but making a group like that just makes the people who are justifying what he did look like the sane ones.

the only time I've ever seen joel flop is against shaq

and you basically have to in many situations because he’s nearly 100 lbs heavier than Joel. If you don’t draw at least 1 offensive foul on Shaq he’s just going to take advantage of the refs calling the game loose and abuse you all night.

the lakers can talk smack this season

they have the best record in the conference………..

but the mere fact that they are talking smack means they have a queasy feeling in their stomach when they play the blazers in the rose garden, in fact i would call it worry.

and good nba fans know that in coming seasons the blazers might be the conference champs in front of the lakers, so they want to get in their cheap shots now while they still have the upper hand.

but to be truthfully honest, u take kobe off that team its a mediocre team at best, if u take broy off the blazers they would still win more than half their games.
