Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

If Cuban can try to snag Chris Paul, think of the package we could put together with cheap rookie contracts our MLE and cap space.

I think if we could get him while keeping Roy, LMA, Oden we don't hesitate.

Lies.

Chris Paul will never leave.

When I came here (in 2004), guys like Nick (Van Exel) and Damon, they were a breath of fresh air for me,'' Przybilla

He will leave the Big Easy someday

when he realizes he will not win a title there. Even Kobe asked to be traded when he didn’t like the team that the Flaker had.

I don't see him signing another contract there

It clicked in CP3’s mind that the owner did not want to win when they attempted to trade Chandler to cut salary. I understand that their local economy and owner dictates that the team has to make a profit but when the front office tries to send your 3rd best player to another team for much less value, you realize how much they care about bringing a championship to NO

You are incorrect, sir. HI-YO!

I think is how Ed McMahon would have put it.

haha

From the back of Travis Outlaw's Franz card: Travis leads the team in monstrous thunder dunks, wins awards for post game interviews, and often gets extra points for degree of difficulty.

From the back of Greg Oden's Franz card: Nickname: Jaws. Has an insatiable desire to tear rims apart while cruising the open court, and was once interested in using head-gear for his profession.

This will never happen

Chris Paul isn’t leaving New Orleans. Unless the Hornets leave New Orleans. Then he’ll be in Seattle.

This would never in a million years happen.

It doesn’t even make sense for New Orleans from a financial standpoint like it says. Think of all the money they would actually lose by trading Chris Paul. Their fanbase would shrink drastically to almost non existent.

This proposal would get someone kicked out of a fantasy league

Cuban’s sense of reality is hilariously warped.

You already had one of the best young point guards in the league, Mark. YOU TRADED HIM FOR A 35 YEAR OLD. And you threw in two first round picks just for fun. Nice call.

CP3 will be one of the top five PGs ever, and he’s not getting traded for cap relief.

Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.

While this proposal likely has no wings, New Orleans is one of the franchises in a tough spot

And they admitted it this week at the latest, applying for the NBA credit line made available. After already trying to shop Chandler for expiring contracts at the deadline.

They have a new franchise sellout record this year (22 home games), 2 All-Stars to market (one of them a major major star), and still are hemorrhaging money. That’s not a good sign. The city might not be able to support an NBA team at the moment, as sad as this is.

And Dallas will be one of the franchises looking to buy this year and next year. Having money and being willing to take back bad contracts could be much more important than what players are in a deal this year.

Greg Oden = Robert Parish (HOF, 4x NBA champion, 9x NBA All-Star). The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 399 rebounds, and 66 blocks, but under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
