[Updated with new poll] Projections for the Remaining Games

It's been forever since I updated this, but we've fared well, other than the gut-wrenching Philly loss.  Now how many of you think we can steal one in Texas and get to 54?  I for one still think there is a greater than 50 percent possibility we steal one in Texas.  Now if we can just avoid stubbing our toe somewhere else.

I'm looking less and less dumb all the time!

THE ORIGINAL POST (updated with the actual results of games already played)

So, here's the team's remaining schedule.  I was trying to project what I thought was a fair expectation for wins and losses in the remaining games, given historical performance against these teams, known current injuries, etc.  I was surprised at how rosy the picture came out:

I'm a defeatist

The odds aren’t with us on the road.

I'm a realist

Reality is about to change how Texas looks at the Blazers.

There should be an option

for those of us that are intentionally pessimistic, so that when we wre wrong, we win anyway!! I almost always go this route, and call it the reverse jinx. That probably makes me a loser…

naw...same with my betting patterns

When I bet on a game I care about (which is rare), I always bet against the team I WANT to win, so I win no matter what.

Kermit on the inbounds play, inbounds....BATES at the horn, HE SCORES!! HE SCORES!!!! And they are all over Billy Ray Bates! My, oh my!!!

i hope you haven't cared about a blazers game for a while--for your wallet's sake.

I predicted 53 wins before the season started

I figured with Webster, Outlaw, L.A. and Roy playing with another year of experience and the additions of Oden and Rudy we would get plus 12 wins. I expected some minor injuries, but not Webster being out the whole season and Oden missing a third of it – on the other hand I did not even consider Batum in my calculations. I’m not going to admit I am a defeatist, but I have to stick with my preseason 53. I think we might pick up at least one of the Texas games. However, I think 6 out of the last 8 is about as good as we are going to do.

i predicted high 40s before the season. Wow was I off

I was right about us dealing with more injuries this year, but I couldn’t have accounted for Batum stepping in so big or Blake improving so much—hell even Sergio is doing a great job right now.

Can we win 54? Yeah. If we keep playing like we have been.

We’ve had 4 29+ point lead games this last month in the rose garden against winning western conference teams. The biggest difference has been LMA. The boy MAN has stepped up in a big way. The way he’s running the floor, crashing the boards, attacking with intensity, and dunking with authority is HUGE. If he keeps this up, LMA will be hands down my favorite Blazer-even though I love them all, but more importantly, we will be at a BASEMENT of 54 wins at the end of the season.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, please stop using the following: "Book it.", "FTW", "Epic" & "Fail".

...no seriously--stop.
