Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Scroll about 2/3 of the way down and Bill Simmons makes an interesting point about why Brian Windhorst in Cleveland and Jason Quick in Portland are two of the best beat writers in the NBA. It basically boils down to the fact that they're the only ones who properly use their courtside/locker room access. Hard to argue that considering Quick's recent Behind the Locker Room Door series.

Quick has redeemed himself nicely

after the inserting himself into the Oden story debalacle. His recent locker room stuf is awesome. Cool for Simmons to give him props.

In my mind,

JQ never needed redeeming. He’s been consistently the best.

Brandon Roy just destroyed everything in his path. There's your rational analysis -- Dave

Actually, the high point of that article

Is the following quote in the lead:

Q: Does the possibility of Isiah Thomas going to work for the Clippers make you want to renew your season tickets more or less? I think it should be more.
— Zach, Los Angeles

Aside from the fact that the spelling is too good (ghostwriter?) did anyone else picture Z-Bo hunched over a keyboard typing this message to Bill with his index fingers?

Behind the locker room doors

is a must read. I cannot wait until that comes out the next morning.

Nice job J. Quick

I try to help with everything," Fernandez said. "If the coach says go rebound, I go rebound. I work for the team.

""If I'm playing this game to get media and attention, I shouldn't be here," Aldridge said. "I'm here to play basketball, and do what I can do to help this team win."

I'll say...

all he forgot to do was propose to Quick.

That is pretty high praise.

Give the man his "M"!!!

I can't wait for Quick's definitive book on the Jail Blazer era.

He may need to join witness protection to avoid contact with from Rasheed and Scottie Pippen.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
