Vague attempt to stop TJ ford?

I don’t know I didn’t watch the game, far too late for the English to be watching.

by BeloHorizante on Mar 5, 2009 3:11 PM PST up reply actions

Because the team played well only

when Bayless was in? Or at least that’s when they seemed to play the best before the 4th quarter. For some reason when Bayless played the Blazers did a better job of keeping the Pacer guards out of the paint and also started drawing fouls on offense. Weird.

by KitIsh on Mar 5, 2009 3:28 PM PST up reply actions

i mist that, infact if you check last nights thread, youll see everyone crying to have bayless removed from the game,

he was not getting love for his performance last night, nor should he have

Q: Do you feel the city of Portland still wants you?

A: I know this team does, the organization does. Everybody else, I don't worry about that. We worry about our family right here (in the locker room). I know I got their back and I know they're behind me.

by maid tu rek on Mar 5, 2009 3:37 PM PST up reply actions

I wasn't in the game thread last night

So I didn’t see that. There was one jumper he took early in the possession that was a pretty bad shot, but other than that I thought he played well. He was aggressive and did a good job on D. His stats from the game are Batum-like in that they don’t look like anything special, but the team looked a lot better with him in. Any reasons why you didn’t like his performance?

by KitIsh on Mar 5, 2009 3:54 PM PST up reply actions

He was only slightly more effective on defence that I remember, not enough to justicefy

don’t get me wrong, I think he has great potential, i just don’t see him really doing much better then sergio. and his shot is much worse. the way our offence is designed, we NEED our point guard to be an outside threat. All that room the defence gives him out there isn’t ment as for a running start to the basket, they can just wait for him. but i dunno

lol, not at all, i really like the kid and what he can do,

or more importantly what he can potentially do. He has a ways to go, and yeah, he needs game time, but I’m also a fan of sergios, and I REALLY like his upside, and think he needs playing time to. He’s a creative point guard, and when this team starts using alot more motion and getting on the fast break, his value and why he’s still hear, will become more clear I think. although, sergy needs to get that three to be consistant, and keep finnishing at the hole, or all his creativity will be taken form him by the opposing defence sagging and whoring the passing lanes.

I like sergio's upside

I just think Bayless has far more upside, and IMO last night Bayless played much better.

its weird but that;s kind of true

I got to go to the Denver game because of the Storm, and he’s a really weird match-up. He can kind of jump, but the thing is he’s just really strong. But his ball handling skills keep him from taking it to the lane. He just gets perimeter rebounds, when Carmelo misses a three, its just a weird combination of skills.

From the back of Travis Outlaw's Franz card: Travis leads the team in monstrous thunder dunks, wins awards for post game interviews, and often gets extra points for degree of difficulty.

That game just turned into a complete route.

The game can be viewed in great resolution with no lag on TNTs website

Generally I don’t care about people watching online when the broadcasting company tries to keep people from being able to watch. In TNTs case though, they are actively trying to show the game to people.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knows this option is also available (this is not meant to scold at all) :

Channing Frye is just awful.

He can’t rebound. He can’t secure the ball. He has no inside game. He can’t take the ball off the dribble. He can’t defend. He fouls way too much. About the only thing he does well is a set shot.

“A demoralizing three heading into the locker room”

by Timmay! on Mar 5, 2009 8:49 PM PST reply actions

How is that demoralizing?

Those kinds of shots are thrown hail mary nearly every game, and almost at the end of every quarter. Some go in some don’t. It’s not like the shot defines anything. Just says that JR Smith got lucky. It’s not going to demoralize the Blazers; if anything it shouldn’t. Dude just got lucky.

We have to come out with our hair on fire and get the score close, quick… can’t let them take a ten point lead into the fourth.

That hurts

Many shots are coinflips, they will average out over time. When they hit a 5% shot though, that hurts. Similiar to missing an uncontested dunk on the break.

When you say it like that

it doesn’t really seem all that bad

I really do love watching this team.

No matter how crappy they are in fourth quarters, they are fun to watch.

Randolph Shav

Randolph Shav should be ahead of Channing Frye’s in the depth chart.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
