Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Its good to know that Jack is in a good fit. Will we ever regret it? Pritchard looked a little nervous in the photo Ben took with .7 left in last nights game.

Decent comparison...

Chauncey was a “late-bloomer” on NBA standards as far as “arriving” as a bonafide superstar. What Jarrett does have that has been Chancey’s best attributes are his unwaivering character and confidence in his own game.

When we got rid of Jack he wasn’t a polished, complete player. And he still isn’t, but there is nothing to say that a guy with that character, willingness to work, confidence, and likeability from his team mates can’t become a Chauncey Billups-esque NBA star. Jack is still on the young side of his career and maybe a season or two away from his actual prime.

I love Jack

and would totally take him back on this team. I almost wish he would have hit the game winner.

I know what you mean

I was torn when he got the ball for the final shot – I so want to see JJ succeed in the NBA but, of course, I want to see the Blazers rip out the heart(s) of their opponents and show it to them before they die.

We threw around that comparison while Jack as in Portland

Its not a terrible comparison stylistically, but it would require Jack to reach the absolute peak of his potential, and I’d say that’s pretty unlikely. Jack’s just too turnover prone to be a top PG like Billups.

Billups was just as unlikely

and he did it. But I agree, it’s so rare, the way Billups developed, that it couldn’t happen twice. Could it?

Billups was indeed a late bloomer

It certainly could happen twice, but the odds are against it happening with Jack.

I don't know about you

But, as a Blazer fan, every time Jack got the ball in his hands in the 4th quarter last night, I let out a sigh of relief. I wanted it in his hands in every possession.

Billups, i don’t feel the same way about.

fyi, in last 14 minutes of the game

1-6 shooting and some true, true ugliness and bad decision making. It was just like last year, but he helped us win this time.

No. Jack's a mediocre undersized 2. Billups is one of the best pgs of this generation.

This is what homerism looks like. This is roughly equivalent to our tendency to compare LMA to Bosh or KG.

uuuuh no

Sorry Billups would have MADE that shot last night. was at the game last night , Jack actually rebounded the 1st free throw in shooting 2 situation and started to run a play while the rest of the players on the court just looked at him. Good old JJ always doing something a little off.

Jarrett's a nice guy

I think he can get better, and I hope he does.

If you say "basically" at the beginning of a sentence, you probably also put ketchup on everything you eat.

Billups is a PG and Jack is playing 2 guard

There you go.

While Chauncey Billups isn't a 2 guard, he's not known for his Nash like passing.

He’s a good scorer, defender, and passer. Something that Jack can become. He already has the scoring down. He just needs to lower his turnovers and exert more energy on defense.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

I wanted Jack to have a good game.

And I wanted Portland to win. So I was pretty happy last night.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

they play a type of game that suits him, so i wish him the best. i dont think he could have had the same success playing under nates system, same with durant………. but thats another story

No no no!

Don’t you people know ANYTHING?

Jarrett Jack = Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Has anyone ever seen them together? I thought not. I rest my case.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
