Not Too Late to Help
At the game last night the Blazers were taking donations to help the family of Nathan Vredevelt, a young man with Down's Syndrome who got separated from his guardians at a Blazer game and was struck trying to cross I-5 on foot. His family has no insurance. Though the Blazers matched donations from last night's game I'm certain that more are needed, with or without the matching.
Here's the website the Blazers have up. Check it out and see if you can help.

thanks for the note, Dave
I didn’t get this entire story before.. the Blazers initial press release was all I had heard about it; they kind of made it sound like a very different kind of accident.. this is such a sad story and tough break for this family..
it is great how the Blazer organizations jumped for the chance the generate support for them..

According to the blazer website, 21k as of this morning by the fans, 10k by the blazers, 10k by a church whose name I cannot recall.

Sad news
Unfortunately Nathan passed away this afternoon. He’ll be cheering for the Blazers from Heaven tonight.
If correct, I'm sure the family will still need help with their medical bills

Sad Ending
Just heard on wheels after work that the young man has passed away. Very sad. Pray for them.
RIP

I try to help with everything," Fernandez said. "If the coach says go rebound, I go rebound. I work for the team.
""If I'm playing this game to get media and attention, I shouldn't be here," Aldridge said. "I'm here to play basketball, and do what I can do to help this team win."
95.5 and KXL both confirm the sad news, just on the radio
Nathan has indeed passed away. Please send your prayers out for the family, and hurryup09 is probably right, they will likely still need help with the medical bills, so please continue to donate if you can.
A three-pointer is not a "triple." A triple is a hit in baseball.
Our deepest condolances to the family of Nathan
What a tragedy to lose someone in such a way and yet thank the Lord that Nathan is now at peace and has no more pain, no more suffering.
God bless.
