Projections after 3/23
Projection explanation in my Sched Ahead Threads.
Projections
| 1 | L.A. | 65.7 |
| 2 | S.A. | 53.6 |
| 3 | Houston | 52.9 |
| 4 | Denver | 52.4 |
| 5 | N.O. | 51.5 |
| 6 | Portland | 51.1 |
| 7 | Utah | 48.6 |
| 8 | Dallas | 48.4 |
| 9 | Phoenix | 44.0 |
Well, that pretty much reeked. The only consolation is that I said yesterday that this was the most dangerous game of the home stand. Since we'll win the next three, that is going to make me look brilliant, and anything that makes me look brilliant isn't entirely bad.
Actually, I blame Sophia. She was worried and nervous about this game when I hadn't told her to be.
Phoenix won their fifth straight, over Denver, so it didn't hurt us that much as far as the division is concerned. That streak needs to end after six, meaning they get one more (against Utah) and lose to us in Portland. Meanwhile, Denver can go on to lose two more games this week (maybe even 3?), and this Philly thing will just be a distant blip on the horizon.

I predicted 50 wins
if we get to that benchmark, I’ll be okay.
It seems that Roy is exhausted, though. I don’t think we’ll go far in the playoffs with a ragged Roy.

Iggy gives Roy fits, it's a problem

it wasn't just Iggy. The 76ers scheme of throwing 2-3 defenders at him was key in their success. We just couldn't break that aggressive overloading zone they were using with consistent outside shooting.

Roy did not do a good job of beating the double outside the 3 point line.
If the double is coming that far out you have to find the open guy on one of the sides for a quick 4 on 3. Roy was dribbling back to half court most of the time waiting for the double to disperse. Didn’t like that.
I assume that was without factoring in the injuries to Oden and Martell (who did?)
To get 50 wins is even more impressive, given the circumstances. I estimated 50 wins with both of them as major factors, but without taking into consideration the major contributions of Batum and Fernandez. I mean, who’da thunk it? Although I still get frustrated at how the Blazers play in certain games (or parts of games), I’m still extremely pleased with what they have accomplished this year.
Two weeks ago I said I didn't think we would win both the Phoenix and Philly game
So I am both to blame for the loss and a genious. This game sucked, no more need be said.

hopefully he'll be regenerated in the next few days
and rudy looking a little better should mean he can spell brandon longer at sg without the team losing its offense.
and of course we can look forward to more effective minutes from greg.
meanwhile let’s hope outlaw’s finger is ok. hes our 3rd leading scorer and has been playing well (less so tonight).

When the season started I predicted 48 or 49.
My hope was we would win 51 to keep our 10 wins per season increase going. The fact that we may exceed that is awesome and I really hope we do, because even with this loss we can win 51 or 52 games.

looking back at your examination of the schedule
utah clearly should have trouble. i would like to see us finish no lower than 6th and have the might of oden come as a surprise to the team in 3rd.
bringing him off the bench still makes some sense to me, as it seems to vastly reduce the anxiety about those initial 2 fouls. when he starts and picks up quick fouls, it definitely bums out the team and the crowd, as well as providing satisfaction to our foe.

Why do some people believe Roy is worn out?

Because he had a bad game last night
and it’s the best thing they can come up with.
Fact is Philly has always given him fits. Iggy manned up and Williams is one quick dude.

The real question:
Why would anyone hype Trent Edwards?!? :-)
As for Roy, he did look meh out there, the double team really got to him.
I am still scared of Phoenix. They are hot and they are desperate and they have 2 Hall of Famers.........
Pontiff of the Pryz for Prez Posse...
Stop already
Phoenix can’t catch us…we should be Phoenix FANS. If we play just .500 ball the rest of the season, Phoenix would almost have to win out to beat us, and that ain’t happenin’ with their schedule.

Don't we have the record for consecutive 1st round exits?
Also, I think we did it in consecutive years too. Those slackers apparently missed the playoffs in 2006. Pfft.
Why don't you tell us what happened in 94 and 95?
Run away! Run away!
