were the quotes talking about what a good soldier martell has been and emphasizing his positivity in the face of adversity. It was only a couple of seasons ago that we saw — and quick and co. reported — martell being the most sullen, moody player on the team and there was a lot of doubt over whether he had a future with the blazers.

i liked those quotes so much not only for what they mean for martell, but what they hopefully portend for greg. just because you’re moody and down in the dumps when things go wrong as a 20-year-old doesn’t mean you’re going to respond that way two or three years later, and with luck both those guys will be around for our championship run.
