Bracket eval after round 1
Well I thought I was doing extremely well in my brackets yesterday as I got 14/16 right, but my Midwest bracket has gone to the dogs. I picked 24 of the remaining 32 teams correctly, and even got a couple of upsets right. Things would have been even better if the right Vikings won!
My sweet 16 selections are already screwed up but at least none of my Final 4 selections got knocked out in the first round.
Final impressions: I feel even more secure about my selection of Louisville to win it all. I think they are now a lock for the elite 8 as Wake Forest is gone, and barring a huge upset they should cruise. Also considering how the Pac 10 kicked a$$ and took names, I feel pretty secure about Washington beating both Uconn AND Memphis (surprisingly enough) and getting into the final 4.
How do you guys feel about your brackets thus far? How many teams did you correctly select in the first round?

Obama isn't doing too well 19/32 after round 1, which ranks him in the 4.23 percentile
Wake Forest ruined my bracket a little, I had them going to the elite 8. So far I am 22/32, which isn’t very good at all, good luck to everyone else!

With Wake Forest and Florida State being the only 2 already gone from the round of 16. Not great, but respectable.

The BE yahoo group has 2 guys at 28
Both of whom picked Pitt. If you assume that these pickers are actually better than the rest of us (possible, but not necessarily true), do you believe Pitt’s the favorite for a championship?
I wonder what the most-picked upset is. Probably the Arizona game. You could run a ton of interesting stats on that.

As one of those two, I assure you no, they are not more likely. I know nothing about CBB.

25. Everything I missed were very close games except Wake Forest
Florida State was a disappointment, I selected them for the Regional Semis because they looked great against UNC. I also took Greg’s Ohio to win their first game because of him mainly and they blew it in OT.
Wake Forest was a catastrophe. They have three guys who could go in the first round in the draft, and played really really bad.

don't know nothing about nothin, but I do know that one dude who coached the olympics coaches duke...
so I laid 5 on duke making the championship game…
so I’m curious…how stupid was that? (considering it was 5 whole dollars)

I did lose Utah in my wheels bracket though, who I had going all the way to elite 8. I also lost Wake Forest who I had going to sweet 16.
I now need an epic run out of USC to get me those points back!

already down three for the 16
and down one for the 8 (I really thought UCLA would upset Villa because they were trying to prove something about their low seed)
still not my worse ever..
