Beating, mauling, and eating the dead horse. (Poll!)
Here in Blazerland we are never please. We can find faults about all of our players, coaches, managers, medical staff, and even announcers. We bring these up on a regular basis as well, but which one do we bring up too often?
(In my fantasy land people realize what other people are getting sick of hearing about!)
Other things to discuss: Which of these should we discuss more? Which is the biggest problem? And why is it so hard to find faults with Joel and Nic?

And
Can anyone think of faults with Nic or Joel that we bring up? Joel isn’t an offensive threat, but that’s expected so we never bring it up and Nic… does he do anything wrong?
Nic
He has made a couple of really boneheaded passes off of steals lately. Maybe he is trying to create to much??
Although even that is really hard to say is a bad thing. I like that he goes for those steals, and creates those opportunities. Just don’t throw them away so quickly!
Sergio and Bayless should be combined into one choice.
Together, they could rule the galaxy.

I thought about that...
But figured it’d be a 2 way fight between that and Oden. I should have left Oden off too since I kinda figured he’d win in a blowout.
Ooh, good poll.
Tough for me to decide… your poll offers a trifecta of things I’m tired of reading.
Outlaw, Oden, and Nate.
I went with Outlaw. The Oden hating seems to have simmered lately (though now that he’s back it’s likely to come to a boil again). Nate has this team on the verge of the playoffs and with a darn good record, so I think he’s got people off of his back some (though once we lose in the playoffs, his head is sure to be called for again.).
Outlaw constantly gets hated on. I have a love/hate relationship with Outlaw. Like many I cringe at his shot selection and his “defense”. But Mr. Outlaw has flat out saved us, and especially over the last month he has really turned it on. He is a great threat off the bench and gives nearly every team trouble with mismatches. When do we let him be?
Give the man his "M"!!!

None of the above
I’m sick of hearing about how sick everybody is of hearing about all these issues.
Just kidding.
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.
Joel and Nic
How can you hate them? They’re in the minority for this team (not being lottery picks). Joel is the Vanilla Gorilla and Batum is the cute frnch kid. What’s not to like?
In all reality though. Joel has worked very hard to concur his faults. He’s upped his FT%, tried to keep his body in shape to play a large % of games (and minutes thanks to GO) and he’s starting to put pressure on the defense. Anyone else notice that he’s starting to get softer hands? He’s no offensive threat, but he’s making the D stay honest and has been openning up the outside lately.
I said Nate.
After every loss their is usually a post calling for nate to be fired. But the nate/KP team has led us to 10 more wins per season, consistently. Nate is a great coach that will and is leading this team to the playoffs and hopefully a championship.
I Blazersedge daily, nightly and ever so rightly.
I need to pipe up and correct you here.
After every loss their is usually a post calling for nate to be fired.
That’s really not true.
After this comment was made enough times (by some very prominent people), I’ve kept track of pro and anti-Nate comments.
Pro comments far outnumber anti’s. And a lot of the pro comments are, funny enough, “I’m sick of people complaining about Nate!”, even though the majority of comments are positive about Nate.
There are many losses this season where the heavy majority (if not all) of BlazersEdge held the players responsible, not Nate.
Just trying to correct a misconception here.
Could you make a graph please?
I'm a really really ridiculously good looking orange mocha frappaccino drinking manhammer sandwich
That would require me to actually tally every post. :)
I may have been anal in tracking this, but not that anal!
Sick of Hearing
#2,#4,#5 I get so sick of hearing about all three of those issue’s. #2 it is so tiering hearing that Aldridge doesn’t play hard every play that he’s not a good rebounder and that he is Soft. #3 I admit it would be great to have a CP3 or D.Williams but not every team can have one. #5 This one is really anoying it really just burns me when people Refer Oden to the next Sam Bowie, Oden to his Credit only play One year of collage ball, and what did Bowie play four years. And this is his rookie season. Give the guy some slack also look at most big centers that only play one year of collage take a couple years or more to get thier feet wet in the NBA. Do some history most big guys in the past didn’t come to the NBA after just one year of collage.
On BE, Trout... in the national media, Oden by a mile
FTW, I picked Trout.
As for Nic and Joel, they get saved by the fact that, for all the glory that comes from offense, most of the scorn also comes from offense. You can’t have many bad shots or bad passes when you rarely touch the ball (and most of the time when you do, it’s because you’re the wide open man). We expect good defense from both of them, but very few people actually understand defense well enough to see if they are consistently playing good defense, and then call them out on it if they aren’t playing so well. In Joel’s case we also expect rebounds, but his rebound/min rate is through the roof.
The obvious answer here is that people are too hard on Greg Oden, who's the real deal.
Some people are still way too soft on the softness of LaMarcus Aldridge and Travis Outlaw, though.
It, however, seems that people finally realize that Jerryd Bayless isn’t a point guard, so that’s a good thing.
Plenty of people still think he is the future
But I left Bayless/Sergio off to avoid that debate for the 5th time in 4 days.
All are wrong, but I vote Greg since that is the most trampled on in the national media
Greg is the real deal (just not Shaquille Hakeem Russell III). LaMarcus is hard (just not a 20 – 10 guy yet*). I never even heard about Travis being soft (just settling too easily into jump shots and not focusing on his rebounds, not that he couldn’t get them). Jerryd is a point guard (just not a pure one).
P.S.: The “soft” Dirk Nowitzki has 253 20 – 10 games in his career. #6 among forwards behind Karl Malone (uncatchable for anyone at 693), Charles Barkley, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan and Chris Webber according to the data available from basketball-reference. LaMarcus currently has 21, less than Raef (24) but close ;-) Travis has 2, as many as Ben Wallace and with a decent chance to catch Shane Battier and Tayshaun Prince (6).
Yeah, the early comparisons some people made of Greg Oden to Shaquille O'Neal and Hakeem ...
Olajuwon were far-fetched pipe dreams. Oden has neither the brute strength of O’Neal nor the insane athleticism of Olajuwon, who are two of the most unique specimens in basketball history. Regardless of that, though, Oden does measure out as mighty similar to Patrick Ewing during his upperclassman years at Georgetown. After a couple more seasons of NBA basketball under Oden’s belt — which, of course is contingent upon him staying relatively healthy — most folks will finally begin to see the light.
ODEN ODEN ODEN ODEN ODEN....
Not that I’m sick of his exploits and his sucess…becuase I’m not.
I’ve always maintained that had I been in charge we’d have taken durant,…..water under the bridge, oh well I didn’t get my wish….who freakin cares right…..
right.
but my point is, alot of the really really honest to god people who really really wanted durant, haven’t weighed in on the situation of the great “oden vs durant” debate….
why?….lol.BECUASE THERE IS NO WAY TO BE CERTAIN THAT EITHER ONE WAS THE CORRECT CHOICE UNTIL….time tells us so.
now to why I’m so sick of hearing about oden….becuase I never actually get to read anything RELATED to oden…it usually starts out good, ( many of the usuals have well written stuff) but…..soon afterwards someone say’s …
“we shoulda bla bla bla bla”….and then it starts…. people start posting silly things like “okc is a better team without player x” and things like " if oden played for team x he’d be getting x amount of x stat." etc…and it just goes back and forth….
if someone wanted to do a “good” post of why oden is oden and not malone, walton, hakeem…..lol… and it stayed on topic and no one mentioned durant….
I think we could finally get past the …. kd/go issue and start really looking at what kind of player we really have…..
A MONSTER…who just needs the slime washed off, to be a MONSTAR……
