Blazers are better fans.

I hopped on over to the Cavaliers sister site on SB Nation and was surprised.  The last fanpost was 7 days ago.  And their last ten span from that time to 2 months ago.  The community on this Blazers fan site is WAYYYYY better than you find on other team's sites.  I take it for granted but I just want to say thanks to everyone that makes this an awesome site.  I haven't posted in a while, but I'm on here reading quite a bit still, and you know what... Blazer fans just rock.

Dave and Ben FTW

This is all due to their efforts. The other teams just don’t have that kind of dedication, and/or people with no lives like us.

well keep in mind this is just one blog network

I don’t know if you can judge the entire NBA fan base by just the SB nation… not that I’m disagreeing. I truly do think this is the most consistently intelligent, engaged, loyal, and downright sexy fanbase in existence today

I think they are preparing for ......

The Next President of The United States is……..Dave or Ben….We will probably have to have a poll or something! This a grassroots campaign to take over the world as we know it. You can see the effectiveness of the mobilization of the group when needed……Remember folks BRoy and LMA took out Lebron and Ilgauskas…..Let that be a precursor for tonight!!!!

you don't have to post

when you’re on tv every other night, and america knows who you are.it’s teams like the blazers and jazz who people don’t really care about.that these fan post matter to their fans.the media love bron*bron and the cavs, pdx on the other hand well that’s another story all together.

by fatty on Mar 19, 2009 2:18 PM PDT reply actions

That doesn't even make sense

We don’t post so people know who we are. All of the people who read these posts already know who we are or they wouldn’t be here.

People post (well most of us) to discuss the team, share ideas, share insights, and just have fun. Whether you are a big market team or small market team doesn’t change this.

by Zaig on Mar 19, 2009 2:25 PM PDT up reply actions

zaig

let me explain it to you,the blazers do not get a lot of exposure nationally,so people like me who lives in the e.coast, can come here to get and recieve team info.not only from dave*ben, but from other blazers fans as well.while if you’re a national team, you’re always on the networks and always discussed nationally on sports talk radio.

by fatty on Mar 19, 2009 2:39 PM PDT reply actions

Okay, that makes more sense.

There are still some major markets (Boston) that have pretty good blogs going. I haven’t be to Lakers/Knicks so I don’t know about theirs, but I think someone mentioned the Knicks having a good blog.

I think it comes down more to the culture of the area and the bloggers. I came here once in passing, didn’t expect to stay, but Dave’s writeups were so awesome that I had to stay. If Dave’s writeup was so-so or bad, I doubt I’d have stayed long enough to get to know the other posters here.

I can’t stand the Wolves writer. His style and the amount of whining he does annoys me. I’m glad I don’t live in that area!

by Zaig on Mar 19, 2009 3:19 PM PDT up reply actions

I still feel a little sorry for him.

The wolves suck, they’ve always sucked, and their always gonna suck. I’d be a big fat whiner too if I had to blog for that team. We can be high and mighty now, but go back 5 years and we were no different… At least we had hope.

There is a difference between criticizing a bad team and whining though.

Shoot, we’re doing pretty good and we still criticize any and everyone on our team. We do in a non whiny way.

I don’t know how many fans you’ll see on other sites, but you definitely won’t see that. :::throws up in mouth:::

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
