BE Vegas folks: I need your help again. I will be in Vegas the evening of Saturday, April 4th, to celebrate my Mom's 71st birthday - she is flying out from "Mayberry" S Missiouri. I'm looking for some good restaurant recommendations (and activities). Our dinner price is about $30 each max (drinks extra). A family get together (8-10 people) all over 21, any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

30 MAx will be tough

if you can go closer to 40, N9NE steakhouse in the Palms is REAL good (you can get a Kobe Beef Burger for ~28). But, its a “trendy” atmosphere. delicious.

My meals as of last week

Paris – has a cafe with filet mingon medalians and crab for 12.99
Bellagio/Wynn buffets (get in line at 3:20) pay lunch price…get seated at approximately 3:45. Wait 15 minutes and get dinner food including king crab! Great price for 20 bucks.

But as far as birthdays go…i dunno. Make sure you do the 20 dollar trick when you check into your hotel.

I get it now....

embarrassed – I understand now. But I think the Paris gig sounds best. Love the Bellagio, last time I was there it was pretty cool and our hotel window was right oustide of it. Outstanding water fountains.

Thanks.

the thing with the paris is

they only have 2 entrees at that price…so since you are having a party…it might be hard to please everyone on that alone. the other entrees are regular price and can get pretty spendy. i like the buffets because everyone can be satisfied there…keep in mind you are paying 20 bucks for lunch whereas dinner is 35ish. at the bellagio we had king crab (precracked), prime rib, roasted lamb, duck, 2 types of veal, chicken, ham. Bellagio and Wynn buffets are way ahead of the curve and is the best value for food in vegas IMO.

We didn't eat at Bellagio or Wynn buffets

but of the several we did try, we liked Mandalay Bay best.

BOA Steakhouse!!

AMAZING steak, a little spendy but not everything on the menu is. Seriously worth the money, it is in Caesars.

Isn't there a Cheesecake Factory in Vega$?

Yes, there are two! Just ate at one here in the Bay Area this weekend. Yummy! No wonder that’s the favorite eatery of NBA players.
