Make 'em filthy
Alright, I found this really cool link via Slam Online, and I thought I'd share it and create a thread for a contest of sorts.
Essentially, Adidas has created a thing where you can Create Your Own Shoes with a bunch of customization options. Colors, styles, prints, logos, countries' flags....everything.
So, come up with your sickest pair of kicks. Make them "filthy," as Ben likes to say.
- Go to Mi Adidas and make the kicks.
- Once you're done, save the design (you'll have to make an account, (which takes 20 seconds) and email it to yourself.
- Go to your email, click the link, and it will take you to the 3D representation of your shoes it created for you. Share your design here by posting the URL as a comment.
I can haz prizez?
Depending on how many people participate, I might give out a small prize or something for whoever creates the sickest kicks (last time I had a contest I sent Outlaw is Rejector a $5 Starbucks card, so don't expect anything huge).
Judging is a combination of creativity, originality, overall aesthetic appeal, and how the other participants and readers react to your shoe.
I went and created what I call the "Rudy 5" kicks. Click the link to see the fully-rotatable, 3D flash thingie it makes for you or just check the pics below I grabbed by taking some screenshots.
So if you're the type who digs kicks, saunter over there, design your sneaks, and share your link when you're done.
Edit Update: The website is pretty new as I understand, so there might be a few bugs. I suggest only having one window or tab open at a time on the site. I tried opening multiple windows and designing multiple shoes at the same time and it failed. I tested with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari and all seemed to handle one tab/window just fine though.
