Flagrant Foul Information
From the LA Times Lakers' Blog. Andrew Kamenetzky has some additional info on what a flagrant foul is and how it's called and assessed. Good insights and clear explanations.

Consider the follow through and smack talking after the fact.
Those things tend to indicate hostile intent. Ariza’s prolly not a dirty player, but that was a dirty, inexcusable foul. Everyone makes mistakes. You simply don’t follow through and then talk smack afterward if it’s an honest play on the ball. He was trying to make a statement.
If you buy that that foul wasn’t meant to put Rudy down and show some aggression (per the boss’ orders), I’ve got a bridge for you.
