I figure they might be playing the 'rebel' card, and almost believed this... but then I slapped myself across the face, asked myself why, then realized that I was being slapworthy.
It's not like we would be throwin it back to 2001 right? I mean I wanna see current Blazers in 70's era Blazers uniforms, is that so crazy? At the very least our throw backs look better than... well, half the leagues current uniforms. Maybe our current uni's are so good they dont wanna intimidate the league with bad ass throw backs?
BTW, I'm a huge homer. But our jerseys kick ace face...

gotta be the Rays
BJ Upton, Evan Longoria, Carl Crawford, Scott Kazmir, David Price, etc. These guys are going to be tremendous— get them out of the AL East and they’d be a perennial playoff team.

if a tram ballooned from 7 to 60+ million…imagine what a stadium built by sam would balloon to. the county is slashing its budget right now and people are losing their jobs…definitely not the right time for a new sports team.

the Rays did great last year...
… and then the Red Sox and Yankees went out and spent eleventy billion million dollars in the offseason. The Rays are going to still make the playoffs sometimes with all of their talent and their shrewd front office, but it will be tough to do so this year.

I'm torn
I’m not sure if I’d want to rip out a cities baseball heart a la the OKC fiasco. That being said, if this is merely a want issue, you have to go with the defending AL Champion Rays, just because everyone loves a winner.

Last year there were a couple of times in Philly that
they would do “ThrowBack Jersey” day…prob was they’d give all the guys different shoes to wear…so invariably all the jump shooters were off…it was a bad mistake with the footwear especially . . . .jerseys….eh…they shoulda known better than thinking putting 12 guys in brand new shoes handed to them the night before was gonna work out ok…especially after I ragged on and on about it….One game Thad Young forgot to bring his new pair – - – he was the only one scoring well from outside 2 feet…I think they lost all those games…maybe won one but it was close

Instead of throwback jerseys
I would prefer the NBA switched to the old red, white & blue ABA ball. I’m still in shock that THAT alone didn’t make the ABA more competitive.

I hate Houston more each day. They just signed probably my favorite D-League player James White. Pretty much the only dunker I know who really made a clear dunk touching the rim from before the free throw line in a contest (see video)

Throwbacks vs. Current
Rejector -
I absolutely agree that it’d be great to see our boys wear some throwbacks once in a while; I have to take exception to the idea that our current unis are cool . Sideways lettering? Way cool. Still lowercase but horizontal? Pretty rad. I start to have minor dislikes with the 90s-era just because it looks boxy. And the only difference between then and now? Motion added. The letters have pointy serifs! Everything is pointy, which doesn’t look cool – it just looks like it’s trying to be cool (see: 4 popped collars).
So really, I think our uniforms are clean and CERTAINLY better than some of the WNBA-style competition we face (I mean jersey-wise); I just like the old stuff better.
i'm ready to graduate now.

that Portland Pirates is the name of the American Hockey League team based in Portland, Maine. and maybe I misunderstand the point of the post, but I my all-time throwback wants are a neon green and blue Maravich Hawks jersey and a baby blue World B. Free San Diego Clippers jersey.
