I've been hanging with B-edge now for quite a while. I don't necessarily agree with all of the posts, but appreciate the knowledge we have here and love the overall banter. That, coupled with last night's utterly putrid performance made me pause.
Recently, I have been thinking about our performance in the fist half of the season and what our success might mean. Our guys know that our early schedule was one of the toughest ever, and to get out of it as well as we did was quite impressive. Now an easier stretch. We don't have to bring it EVERY night, surely with where we sit, we can expect a few gimmees. Crap. Time to reassess, but not freak out. I think last night's game will serve as a wake up call.
Then there's the Nate factor. Do any of you truly believe Mac would've been chosen to be the D specialist for our Olympic team without the blessing of some of the most brilliant minds in basketball making that decision? I believe Nate preaches what needs to be done, feels he gets through to our fellas and then when the ball is tipped......Lapse after lapse after lapse. Dude must be totally on the verge of insanity. Maybe there's a reason he speaks openly of not being around for the long haul. Maybe with what the guys upstairs gives him to work with, he feels his squad will never grasp his sermon.
But I digress. I freakin' LOVE our organization. In KP we trust! Nate, keep on preaching the gospel, sooner or later things WILL click. I am sure of this. Let us not forget where we are right now. If RLEC is not with us soon, we will be the youngest team in the NBA. The youngest team in the NBA is in a battle right now for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs in a stacked Western Conference. Keep your eyes on the big picture young guns. We are all very proud to call you our team. Progress continues, even with a rotten egg laid ot OKC. See you at the Garden on Wednesday...OKChumps.
