The championship team

I was going back and looking at the 76-77 championship season. I wanted to see what their record was at this point of the season. I was a little surprised to see that if the Blazers win tonight they will have exact records after 48 games (31-17). The thing is with that team they went on a loosing streak of 5 games soon after their 31'st win. They ended up with 49 wins for the year. I just don't see a series of games where they loose 4 or 5 in a row. I still see barring injuries 54 to 55 wins.

What his post does show is that it is possible.

It also shows that this year’s team could very well be ahead of the curve of the 76-77, should we win against the upcoming weak portion of our schedule.

I programmed

a systematic referencing application which compares Blazer history and statistics. It recently just told me that coincidentally the ‘76-’77 team and the ‘08-’09 team played basketball! Basketball! Who knew!?

I don't know..

I don’t feel particular secure that the Blazers will necessarily do as well against the weak part of the schedule as they should do and should they let a couple get away you could say that those games got loose on them..

so maybe it wasn’t a typo but actually the taking of a clever poetic license
