Is a day I've waited to arrive for a VERY long time! It's just so hard to be patient. I check BE several times a day. I read everyone's posts, fanshots and comments... I try to be a part of this team and feel pride in it's development and success. It's not as easy to do when you live in a city that loves itself as much as Dallas, TX does. I lost some money and major bragging rights on Christmas... Sometimes when I'm lying awake in bed next to my sleeping wife, my thoughts drift to the team. In my mind's eye, I can picture Roy's slow, deceitful hesitation-drive - Greg throwing down and then doing his full-body pull up on the rim (and although he doesn't really do it, I can picture his goofy grin as he jogs back to play D). LA's silky-smooth turn around J. But then I snap out of it once jealousy overrules and I picture my wife all googly-eyed and crushing on Rudy.
Anyway... this is my night. My team playing in My new town. I feel all giddy like I did on Christmas Eve when my mom tried to hoax me into bed. I almost called in sick from work so that I could "get ready for the game". But my wife wouldn't allow it and reminded me that I'm not actually playing tonight.
But that's alright. It's finally becoming tangible!
