Hot or Cold Blazers tonight
The Minneapolis “dewpoint” is now minus 6 degrees. Wednesday it was 92 in San Antone when the Blazers were shooting cold. Rudy must appreciate American weather by now. What will he say in his blog about Minnie temp?

the GameDay post on CanisHoopus is 1000 words of hate for KP, BEdge, Greg Oden, and the Trail Blazers in general.
they don’t spend any time covering their own team. Today their two posts are about Duke traveling because, i quote, “We really just Hate Duke” and one slamming the blazers.

That is wrong. Their editors Wyn and Stop-n-Pop write write some of the most thoughtful and original analysis on all of SBN
They just happen to not like the Blazers and are a little down with their own team – which should come as no surprise.

I defintely think the hate stems in large part from the Roy/Foye deal combined with the us winning the coinflip against them which got us Oden
There’s also some legitimate dislike of the “pritchslap” stuff and the Larry Miller/DMiles stuff, but I think there’s little doubt Roy/Foye and Oden is the reason why Canis Hoopus hats us more than other blogs.

i just went over there and read it.
the whole Game Preview was about why the Blazers are a terrible organization from the ground up.

it’s mostly redirected fury towards McFail. I mean, those guys have been suffering so long under McFail’s rule that they probably haven’t got much left to write about other than hopelessness and rage – even as it pertains to other teams.

Interesting first paragraph.
You are woefully uninformed about Kevin Pritchard. You state one place that you “keep off court issues off limits” and yet you refer to Kevin as a “prick” and accuse him of 3 off court issues in the first paragraph alone! he’s seen the segment of the fanbase that has deified Pritchard, and grew to dislike the whole “pritchslap” movement. That’s understandable.
I dunno why he hates the Blazers so much. He is a great blogger I enjoy reading Hoopus. The whole “no off-court” thing at Hoopus is interesting. Weird that he brings off-court stuff with the Blazers.

If you want to nit-pick about not knowing what I meant about off-court player issues vs. on court ones or front office ones with a professional basketball team, be my guest. When someone sends an email out to all of the other teams threatening to sue them if they pick up a player, that’s not off-court…or whatever semantics you want to come up with to describe it. It’s part of the business. It’s an employment law issue.
Did I go over the line with the name calling? Probably a bit, but that’s why I kept it in the comments. He’s a nit. There, is that better? Am I now one of the smart ones?
Good lord, I don’t like your favorite team. I’ll bookmark this comment for the next time I read “L*kers”.

Yes folks, it’s time once again to play one of our least favorite teams in the league, the Portland Trail Blazers. From Randy Foye + $1,000,000 of Paul Allen’s money to a coin flip for Greg Oden to an abnormal and creepy fan-based man love for team GM Kevin Pritchard to the unprofessional (if not illegal) leaking of confidential medical information of a player to the press to bad mouthing former players to opposing GMs to their own fans booing Darius Miles because his comeback from a medical disaster messed up their cap space…well, let’s just say that the Lakers are the only other team I enjoy less, and I have to admit that Kobe is growing on me.

Which team shows up tonight?
The Blazers are two completely different teams when they are at home and when they are away. The last two games it looked like they were just flat out uncomfortable being on the court. I don’t know if that is credit to Houston and San Antonio, my guess would be partly, but I think most of it is mental. San Antonio plays good defense, but not 38% shooting defense.
I want to see the confident home team that opened up the game early versus the Clips. Away from the RG it seems as if the team never pushes the tempo. I want to see a more concerted effort to push the ball. I think against SA and Houston the team could have pushed the pace of the game a little more. Even though that is not this teams’ methodical way of playing the game, sometimes teams have to adjust their game plan to out maneuver an opponent who knows how to defend your half-court offense.
I’m just sayin’.
I say this team shows up tonight:
The Blazers will play beautiful basketball.
Brandon will shoot the lights out. Blake will run and LMA will finish strong at the hoop. Bayless will play because we’ll be so far ahead in the 4th quarter, giving all the Jerryd fans something to smile about.
But wait, that’s not all. Rudy will go 5 of 5 from distance. Batum will posterize someone. And Channing will NOT lead the team in points.
why not everyone accomplish what was mentioned above
AND channing leads in scoring. it just adds some insult to injury for the wolves.

Lets just say I had lunch with the prettiest girl on this site, and worked on finishing up my school work for my contractors license, AND, AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I booked my tickets to Memphis! Dave I will be sure to write up a recap of the Blazer game VS. Memphis on the 16th! My good buddy who works for Nike is putting me up, and showing me the sights, and then, after the Blazers win, I get to watch Memphis vs. Boston from the 2nd row! Who should I root for?

when someone gets into the paint, we tend to get very very confused
I was impressed with SA’s discipline in covering all of their bases on Defense, they would triple team Roy down the lane but were still able to get out to our shooters on the kickout. maybe one day we can be half that effective on D.
