We Won The Internets
As I told Skeets last night, this could be the single greatest championship in Portland since 1977.
This morning, he announced Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge won Yahoo's 2 on 2 basketball tourney.
No doubt backed by the few million Blazers' blogs out there, our sixth-seeded Western Conference squad defeated LeBron James and Zydrunas Ilgauskas with 54% of the vote in the final. Yes, in the end, even the mighty L-Train couldn't steamroll over Blazer's Edge and friends. (Where were you Fear The Sword? Where were you?)
Roy and Aldridge's impressive title run included wins over the Spurs' Tony Parker and Tim Duncan, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, the Thunder's Kevin Durant and Jeff Green and the Hornets' Chris Pauland David West. That's six or seven All-Stars right there. Ridiculous.
In the final round, more than 5,000 votes were cast for BRoy and LMA. That's pretty amazing.
If you voted for the duo during their improbable run through the tournament, here's your chance to take a bow, to put an unlit cigar in your mouth, to wave a towel around your head, to hold your head in your hands in awe.
And, please, victory celebration etiquette is in place: Do not hog the champagne.

Huzzah!
no-one mobilizes like Blazer nation. This will look nice in the awards case next to a few championship trophies.

Why do you think we made the comeback vs Lakers
Fan voting? No way.
Lakers got up 9-0, but then LA tipped a pass out of bounds. Gasol inbounded to Roy, who then scored 11 consecutive points.
Yi Jianlin for the starting F spot
It was "mascot night" at the Rose Garden, which apparently translates to a dozen inflatable versions of various NBA mascots being chased around the arena by Portland's "Blaze", which is some breed of rapist dog. -PostingandToasting

So THIS is what Hurryup09 has been waiting for
It’s pretty awesome, though anticlimatic, but I don’t wanna take anything away from Hurryup09’s dream.
I voted, like, 10 times, and I’m damn proud of it.
Now all of our foes across the NBA netscape shall know our TRUE power, and never challenge us again!!!

So why can't we do the All-Star game next year
Who cares if LMA isn’t quite an All-Star? Send him anyway! :)

Be Proud!
Since nothing else we do here really matters, it nice that we got a chance to do something that doesn’t really matter and get recognition in a North American-wide place which doesn’t matter.

Acceptance Speech:
Gotta thank my work for having a fast internet connection.
My IT guys for not turning me in, for what they thought might be a DOS attack.
The fact that despite Portland having a small market, we somehow “cheated”.
Laker fans for being so classy throughout the entire tournament.
From the back of Travis Outlaw's Franz card: Travis leads the team in monstrous thunder dunks, wins awards for post game interviews, and often gets extra points for degree of difficulty.
Blazers fans didn't do jack!
My boys B. Roy and L.A. won those games fair and square. That was the rest of the internet voting because Roy and Aldridge are legit. Bunch of bloggers tryin’ to take credit for REALITY. Come on now, you know Roy and Aldridge would dominate those fools.
I da man!
Just to make sure people see this awesome picture and dialogue

“Hold on. Are you tellin’ me we won the whole thing?”
“Yup.”
“Bwhahahahaha …”
Funny stuff Skeets.

I voted, while my students (high School Teacher) worked on their projects in third period for about an hour! Gotta love project based learning!

In fact pass the Champagne to the left
this is cause for Celebration!
Beating LBJ is impressive, but Z.I. has nothing on LMA.
