Junk Drawer 2/25 - Cities and Kinghts and other ways to waste time
So every day I find myself wasting time NOT relevant to the Blazers. Lately I have been playing some settlers (cities and knights) online. My name is Rip City 4 real, and not so coincidentally I meet a lot of Blazers fans when they see my name. I should be studying Japanese, but that's not as fun. I just got kicked off BE at work, so I guess that's where I'll be doing my studying now. I really miss kayaking in Oregon. There are so many great places around, and so much beauty out there. I've been playing basketball a little, but I am a much better spectator. At least I'm a lot bigger than the Japanese, so I can act like Joel out there. You know, a mini Joel playing against the mini Warriors every night. So what do you do to waste time? How much time do you spend on BE? I'm not sure who spends the most time on this site, but I think a few people just sit around and wait for new posts/comments nearly all day long.
Anyway, back to my Settlers addiction, if anyone reading this knows the site I am talking about (or want to know) and wants to jump in a Blazers fans clan (they have a Raptors fans clan, we gotta be represented) let me know and I'll email you. So, who spends the most time on this site?

Are you sure you are not RipCity with a new name?
Has a real familiar feeling and considering there’s a mispelled word in the topic sentence (I won’t say which one), I’m dubious about contributing to this junk (unless it means rescuing 92.)

It's not coming up in red
Is it a word I used in the wrong context? And no, I’ve had the same name on this site and that one. What’s rescuing 92?

92wastheyear, the reigning title holder for Greatest Junk Drawer Ever
I was asking him for clarification, cuz even tho he didn’t make your poll list for some unknown, yet baffling reason, he is still the arbiter of what counts as junk and what doesn’t. By rescuing 92, I mean doing whatever is needed to keep his record in tact.

(OT) Big ODGT action tonight vs Pound the Rock
After perusing the PtR site, I see they had 766 comments in their last ODGT against the Mavericks. That aint too shabby, and might make them think they have a superior site to our own. As a rabid uninnoculated Trail Blazer fan, I think whatever number of posts they put up today, we have to double. This is not going to be an easy contest tonight, and the team needs all of our mojo if its gonna have a chance.

I noticed their count. I also noticed the mocking of the Suns, Mavs, Nuggets, Hornets on the site. There’s some bile over there – tread lightly!

nope, just a former delinquent
I volunteer with the godawful youth services here in DC. The group homes are threatening places. I had a cup coffee at MacLaren and a few months at Hilgard as a teen. Both were like vacations compared to the transitional facilities here.
At these talks, they want me to talk about every mistake I made, rather than advise – a lot easier

It’s also tricky cause some of these names might even be the same people…. . . .

yeah i'm around a lot, but it's hard to keep up with Norsk
but Mortimer has longer posts.
TiH is definitely a beast as well.
I would say if I’m making a “starting five” those 3 are the Broy, LMA, and Oden.
The last 2 guys to start? I’m not so sure. Tossup between a few of us. I think Jscot gets a nod just because he is around a lot, AND a scot, and he has epic posts, oh yeah and he’s FROTW.
That leaves one starting position open.
Damir can’t be forgotten about either. He’s been around forever. He’s pretty much the Thomas Jefferson of Bedge.
Or, to relate it to last night’s game, he’s the Dikembe Mutumbo of Bedge. Been around forever, a great player in his prime who’s slowed down as of late, but still a Hall of Famer.

it was the 3 point contest with better shooters.
It was "mascot night" at the Rose Garden, which apparently translates to a dozen inflatable versions of various NBA mascots being chased around the arena by Portland's "Blaze", which is some breed of rapist dog. -PostingandToasting

Prez says:
Mortimer sucks.
Now, does Mortimer agree that he sucks or is Mortimer going to go back on what he said?

You call me crazy? Call me crazy?!
You call me crazy, man you make my day
My state of residence was disarray
At every party and as far as anybody knew – everything was cool, but
The truth was bottled up inside of me
I was as lonely as a man could be…
Then love came knocking at my door
(chorus)
Since I met You I’ve been alright
You turn all my darkness into light
Since I met You I’ve been okay, I’ve been alright
Since I met You I’ve been okay
You’re rolling my winter into may
Since I met You I’ve been alright

Well I lost today
I bedged from 10:30am to 2:45 AM to try and prove my worthiness for most active Bedger ever. Sweat was pouring down my face. I drank Gatorade G by the gallon. I even tried the Giants method of eating bananas.
To no avail.
Next time I guess I’ll have to pull 36 hours. If that doesn’t work, 72. If that doesn’t work…well….I might have to hire a hitman to take out some of the other poll options.

No one even voted
there’s like a 4 way tie with 5. I know it wasn’t the best poll, but there have been others way up there in the hundreds. I guess I gotta pull out a KD vs Oden, should Sergio start, or should we trade for Amare poll to really pull in the votes. Maybe like a ‘which BEdger would you least like to face in a death match’ would garner more attention.

this question is boring, but what is the rec I see sometimes as a response?
I’ve been reading BE for several weeks and have just started posting. I am still figuring out how to organize the huge volume of stuff on this site—this is a treasure trove for an out of state blazer fan like me—thanks!
I am sure it’s a dumb question—but I do have a keen appreciation for sarcasm, so I won’t take it personally-

recommend, it is a show of support for a comment. At the bottom of comments it says reply, actions # of recs. If you press the actions button you can rec or flag comments. Flag is for inappropriate stuff (cussing, laker support, ect…)
