Blazers' injury-prone Oden to miss two more games
This is the headline on NBA dot com in the latest news section on the home page. I am really, really, really *Expletive* irritated with how everyone thinks Oden is "Injury prone" Even the league thinks he's injury prone...... The thing I think that bothers me the most about this is I have people who are L@k*r fans who say he's injury prone, but fail to remember that Andrew Bynum missed the playoffs and the last half of last season. Most likley this one too, but Oden is more "Injury Prone" I am outraged the league would put this on their site..... GRRRR

It's an AP article. But still, the "injury-prone" moniker is stupid yet we will have to live with it in the national media until Greg plays injury free for a long long time
Brandon is one of those quiet assassins. - Chris Paul
Fully deserved moniker....
I don’t see the point of being upset about it. Oden has been injury prone the last 3 years.
The cake is a lie. Do not bake it.
Sad but true.
Still… he’s about average for most NBA centers this season.

Its almost part of his name at this point
He’s not just Gregory Wayne Oden, he’s “Injury Prone Overall #1 Draft Pick Greg Oden.” Its annoying but it is what it is. Not worth losing sleep over.
Boomshakalaka
we drafted Oden, we’re sticking with Oden, Give the guy 5 years at least until you label what kind of player he is.

Check out that river in your post
Crazy, every single line, lines up just perfect.

No surgery for Oden.
“The doctor said it depends how I feel,” Oden said. “If I feel I can go out and play, I can go out and play. I’m just trying to make sure it is better. I don’t want to re-injure it if I do come back.”
McMillan said he has become worried about the injury, although he said he has been assured by team doctors that this will not turn into a long-term setback. He also said surgery is not an option.

If this is true and the doctor has in fact cleared him to play he should MAN UP and PLAY!
Can anyone here on BEdge imagine BRoy getting cleared to play and then not playing??? No, I didn’t think so!
Come On, Greg! Grow A Pair!
I want to see some desire to get out their and contribute to the team!
I don’t care if it is only 10 – 15 minutes – PLAY!

I wonder if he's hooked on pain killers.

I'm a really really ridiculously good looking orange mocha frappaccino drinking manhammer sandwich
So wait.
The doctors clear Martell and Steve and they reinjure themselves – we throw a fit.
The doctors clear Greg but he himself doesn’t feel 100% yet (by the way if his left knee doesn’t feel 100% what do you think he’s going to compensate on? Oh right his right knee which had micro-fracture probably don’t want that boss) and he doesn’t want to get reinjured – we throw a fit.
That doesn’t seem to match.
Oden will always be labled as injury prone
There will always be little injuries here and there and each time the press and the Durant lovers will scream injury prone. It is known as a self-fulfilling prophecy and as great as Oden can be, there will always be bumps and bruises along the way.
The label in no way affects how great Oden can be, if he continues to work hard he can be a superstar.
This is what Lucas would do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0aPkIE2qK0

I know
But the label just makes one mad.

Oh boy, if only we would have gotten a first round pick for him from a bottom dweller team. Imagine, KP could have drafted Ricky Rubio to play for us in 2011. Or Amar'e to leave us again in 2010. Or something. Just imagine the possibilities Morti!

Brandon is one of those quiet assassins. - Chris Paul
The worst part
Now that Paul Allen is broke, he won’t fire KP like he should because he doesn’t wanna pay him AND the new (better) GM at the same time.
WE CAN’T WIN.
Any trade KP could have done would have led to a championship, either this season or the next, EASY.
CURSES.

I'm moving to Oklahoma City
And gonna root for the Thunder. KP is gonna get Presti-Punched, Roy for Watson.

Better get some cowboy boots
Poop kicking in sneakers just don’t work, you need real OKC style cowboy boots.
And a fancy striped Garth Brooks style shirt that you tuck into really tight Wranglers.
The Thunder will be the greatest team to win 30 games next year, ever. Enjoy the ride, my friend. You are the envy of every Blazer fan who is stuck with our crappy team :-(

Do they have internet in Oklahoma?
How will I read Blazer’s Edge?

It's one thing when a guy keeps hurting himself landing funny...
I don’t think it’s fair to call someone injury prone because of a collision with another player, though. You bang two knees together hard and it can happen. There’s no prone about it.
Greg oden is injury prone
He is still the right choice when we drafted him and still the right choice even with what has transpired. Who cares what people say, hopefully greg will be able to stay on the floor for a reasonable amount of games every season, if he can, the type of output he can produce will give us a good chance to win a championship.
What about him so far suggest he ISN'T injury prone?
As harsh as it is, there is something to it.
"Respect everyone, fear no one." -TP
Well, he has missed about 60% of his first two seasons due to 3 separate injuries... I reckon, it's truth in advertising at this point, although I'm inclined to accept the dings as random events myself...
I am really, really, really Expletive irritated with how everyone thinks Oden is “Injury prone” Even the league thinks he’s injury prone……
Why is Channing Frye still here? Anybody??? Anybody???
I think Oden should retire
and save his body while he still can. I mean the guy’s almost 50 right?
I like whatever metric makes a Blazer look better.
I had to make some kind of joke
This stuff is just a bunch of crap.
I like whatever metric makes a Blazer look better.
the reports seem right
I don’t know about injury prone, but heartless seems more accurate. G.O. has been babied, and handed the starting spot. He’s slow, defensively a liability, foul prone, awkward offensively, and outside of one shove to Ray Allen out of bounds he has shown little passion or fire. When they do pre-game introductions, I am endlessly amazed at how emotionless Greg is.
It’s season 1 of the Oden era, and it’s looking suspiciously like Sam Bowie 2.0. The brass will never admit it, but I am starting to believe that K.D. was the right pick for the #1 spot. That said, we are suck with Oden. Hopefully he will learn how to rotate on D and will be able to put up a post move in fewer than 3 awkward dribbles before his career is over.
But being honest is all I do well.....
When it's all said and done
G.O. will be giving more injuries than he receives. When I think injury prone, I think of names like Grant Hill or Bill Walton.
