Paul not likely to stay happy in NO
Of course wishful thinking, but doesn't seeing CP3 play with Roy during the All-star game give you goosebumps too?

Sam Smith?
Don’t believe a word he says.

That is a pretty good strategy
But with Durant, who is looking like a better version of George Gervin and would be the consensus No. 1 pick now over Greg Oden, the Thunder has been likened to the next version of the Portland Trail Blazers, the next new thing on the come in the NBA.
Durant is the consensus of which group exactly, writers who predicted him to be better already before the draft because no GM was available for comment? The Sam Smith committee of one, whereas the Marc Stein committee of one still has Oden as the No. 1? And other teams are already the next Blazers, when the Blazers haven’t arrived anywhere yet? Where the Hornets not the consensus next new thing last year?

That disclaimer the Bulls put at the top of his article
underscores your point. Still, hand a loaded revolver to a blind man and he might get lucky. I think Paul likes playing for NO, but I also think his #1 priority is to win a ring, and Shinn’s attempt to dump Chandler has made it clear that Paul will have to do it without Chandler or go elsewhere.

Obviously because he missed a whole yr with mircofracture surgery with no particular injury that caused it, and considering the fact Oden has already missed multiple games this yr. So I think thats why… But I could be wrong

Sam Smith is more than just a Committee of One
he is the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang of Trade Machines.

CP3 and the Hornettes
Why would Paul want to stay in NO? He is obv the only player there that matters. West is not as special as people seem to think. Paul is like Blake + Roy out there. He is the only reason NO is playoff caliber.
The front office of the Hornettes is not impressing. How long until we hear LeBron type rumbling about build a team around me or I am gone?
How the Blazers get him, I don’t know. Would it have to be a sign and trade, given our likely cap situation then? How much are we willing to give up next summer to get him?

I would give up anyone...
…besides Roy, Aldridge, Oden. Period. You put Chris Paul in the backcourt with Roy, and have Aldridge and Oden up front?!?!?
I could be the SF on that team and we would still win a championship.
I think it will never happen. I have to think that. Because even the idea of it ever happening is so mind blowingly awesome that to even consider it possible, might make me soil myself.
Paul is the EXACT type of player that would take this team from good to unstoppable, skipping great completely.
The only other player you might want to hold onto is Rudy, just for the alleyoops. But LaMarcus would have so many, even that seems petty.
O.k. I have to stop talking about this, it’s too awesome to contemplate.

Sorry, forgot.
Sam Smith is a hack. Plain and simple. He might be right about Paul being unhappy in NO, but that’s because even someone with rocks for brains realizes what a terrible sign the Chandler trade was. Any star player would be unhappy in that situation. They want rings, not cap room. R-I-N-G-S.

I would give anybody but Roy
He’s turning into one of the all time great point guards…..which are almost as hard to come by as great big men. I would give them anybody but Roy, and that’s not because I think Roy is better. It’s just that he’s our Paul. They can have LMA or Oden, but not both, plus whatever else they want.
