Did Greg go to Houston?

Any update on whether Oden is traveling to Houston?

I know Greg was scheduled to meet with team doctors today, but I am guessing the team plane has already departed for Houston at this point.

Was he on it or left behind?

It seems like a longshot that he had his appointment with the doctors this morning, was cleared to play, and then made the team plane.

Let's hope that is the case!

In The Descent of Man, Charles Darwin uses the phrase "survival of the fittest" only twice. He uses the word "love," by contrast, over ninety times. Darwin never wrote about "selfish genes." For Darwin, the main force behind human evolution is survival of the most compassionate, not survival of the fittest. Human evolution is driven by moral sensitivity, or love.

YES

I just heard on 95.5 The Game, that Greg is still listed as day to day and will travel with the team to Houston.

I see this as good news, as I fully suspected that today would be the day we heard that this may be a prolonged recovery. If wasn’t going on the trip, I’d be nervous. Since he is, I suspect they believe he could be available on this 3 game trip, putting to bed the complainers of Greg being injury prone.

Major Injuries so far this season:
Jameer Nelson
Al Jefferson
Tracy McGrady
Gilbert Arenas
Brendan haywood
Elton Brand
Mike Dunleavy
Jason Terry
Andre Bynum
Michael Redd
Andrew Bogut
Andres Biedrins
Chris Kaman
Danny Granger
Monta Ellis
Tyson Chandler
Kevin Garnett
Carmello Anthony
Nene?

Greg has missed about 10 games. Some due to a sprained ankle which can be attributed to getting used to NBA speed and tempo. Others due to a chipped bone from slamming knees with the FLAILING Corey Magette. This AND the Laker game, are games he continued to try to play through. Yes, Greg has had a string of injuries, but he is a giant kid adjusting to the NBA. Count me in the camp that believes he still will show us the toughness and capability to have a long productive NBA career. Will this be mixed with seasons of 10-15 games missed due to injury? Probably, as is the case with many NBA centers. Get well Greg.

Jason Quick

said on the pregame show last night that GO was going to see the doctors after the game last night and that the trainer had already said Oden would be going on the road trip

Has anyone heard any results from that evaluation?

PLEASE no Oden on road trip

Would like to see the blazers win at least 2 out of the 3 and Oden all most allways plays bad against winning teams. This would just be another excuse for playing a bad game not just one but TWO bad knees. No thanks lets wait and he can play at home against some cupcake team were he can have a good game.

He needs to learn to eat up Yao

not cupcakes. The only way that happens is by playing these these bigtime games.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
