Nene injured today
Nene went down late in the Nuggets' loss to the Bucks today - looked like a knee. He's been great this season, and if he misses a big stretch of time, I think the division is back in play.

The Blazer's are only 1 loss behind the Nuggets
The division is in play whether Nene is injured or not. I hope it’s nothing serious.

Big loss for Denver
Nene’s been good all year, particularly post-Billups trade. That’s pretty much every starting big man in the Western conference with an injury it seems like, wild year
An admission: After the OKC game, I said some things. Stupid things. Things about Nate not knowing how to coach GO. It was only then I realized that I was in danger of becoming that which I most loathe - an uninformed, knee jerk fan who reacts to wins with wild delusions of championships and losses with trade and firing fodder. I will not be that fan. From this point on I will support the Blazers, the coaches and front office wholeheartedly, offering praise and criticism appropriate to the matter at hand. I will never again be "that guy".

I hope he's not out long. I love that guys game and he is a genuine person too. If he stays out long and we win the division people will say the only reason we won it is cuz nene got injured too.

i also hope he's ok for his sake
but I wouldn’t feel guilty at all about winning the division due to injuries.

no kidding right now we are playing without two starters
Rudy's 3rd Rule: When not shooting on offense, you should be communicating, passing, and running. Also, yell "Foul!" repeatedly. Why? How can officials summon help if you yell "Good D!" or "Our opponents are superior!"?

I'll say it
I hope he is out a long time. We need to catch up to the Nuggets. Who cares how we win the division. The banner will hang in our rafters forever, people will remember it was because Nene got hurt for maybe a year.

hoping he's out for a long time is bad sportsmanship
but you’re right about the rest of it. Every team has injuries. You either win games or you don’t, there are no awards for the team that “should have won if………”

How can you say that
When everybody knows that we are the only team whose players ever get injured?

This is why we need to stop saying
our time is three years from now. Injury to other teams’ key players makes it possible for the Blazers to move up to the 2nd seed this year. With a little luck we could go to the west final and even THE FINAL. Nobody gave the 77 Blazers much prop before the playoff but we won it all. Think big and think now. Too bad we didn’t pick up a veteran with playoff experience.

I don't think this will slow them down much
Billups is the catalyst, only him going down will really hurt the team significantly.

it will definetely hurt them
but they have Kenyon Martin and Chris Anderson who have been terrific this season. Denver’s still tough.

I think it will hurt them a lot
Looking at his stats, Nene is 1st on the Nuggets in Win Score, 2nd in PER, and first (by a very large margin) in both raw and adjusted +/- stats. Based on those statistics, Nene appears to be Denver’s most important player.

actually
I think a healthy Nene has been far more important to their success than Billups has been. This is just one mini-article on Nene’s defense that shows how valuable he is to Denver

I adore Nene, a beast of a man.
He is one of my favorite players. That said here’s to a full, but very very very very slow recovery.
