I'm a jerk. This should be in a trade drawer, but I can't help myself. I'm an addict. The thought here is that none of these deals seem to make sense in isolation, but it sure seems like Sacramento and Philly are interested in making deals. What happens when you combine them with the Blazers?
I think this deal makes more sense than most of the two teamm deals I've seen. I don't believe Philly would deal Iggy and Miller for what the Kings or Blazers would offer independently. This deal gets them their PG of the future, plus two young talented front court players on the cheap. It also gives them more cap flexibility down the road as none of those guys are on expensive long-term deals.
The Blazers start their championship window now. This trade puts them in the upper echelon. Nuff said.
Sacramento gets significant cap relief that allows them to get a player better than Salmons in free agency.
