Im Guilty
... of openly saying the Blazers should stand pat come the trade deadline 6 weeks ago.
...of getting caught up in the trade rumor hype 3 weeks ago and flip flopping my stand on no trades.
...of thinking that the Blazers do not care about going over the cap and paying extra into the luxery tax.
...of thinking KP was going to trade nothing but RLEC to get C. Paul.
...of being a fan that preach's patiance to his friends but has none himself.
...of telling my wife I only had one chili dog for lunch when I really had..........

Mashburn is the biggest tool.
Why he is an analyst I have no idea.
He is worse than Barkley.

I think we were losers today too
RLEC is nothing more than a lost asset. Nothing to show for it.

I am too
Don’t worry we have a ton of assests moving into draft night and free agency this offseason. PA is saving money.
I also admit that the first time I was interested in VC was today when I heard we were asking for GSW 2011 draft pick. That is the kind of pick that becomes the second overall pick.
But we have a lot to work with and that cap room will be very valuable this offseason.
In KP we trust

You had it right the first time: PA is saving money.
This failure is 100% a money saving maneuver. If you don’t think Paul Allen is feeling world capitalism circling the bowl, you all are mistaken…

We may find...
…as the world economy goes down the toilet, that standing pat is far better then lots of other teams will be forced to do.

The pick was the most interesting part of the trade
VC is a player in this league but for fututre implications, the 1st round pick would be hugely valuable to the Blazers. This was the only reason i was hoping for a trade..was to obtain future 1st round picks.
As it stands we can still do that on draft day while saving money and not risking team disruption.
We have a lot to work with?
If it’s really true that Bayless and Batum are essentially off the table, along with Roy, Oden and LA (and maybe Rudy?), then what are we really talking about? Trout and Sergio?

Frye was an expiring contract with a big cap hold.
The bottom line is this: ALL NBA owners and ALL NBA teams are “financially troubled,” and staying the course was the cheap out for the Blazers, rolling the dice that this crew can sneak into the playoffs in the 8th seed…

Are you serious?
I’m pretty much assured we are making the playoffs. We are 12 games above 500 and probably one of the top 8 teams in the nation. I am too discouraged, but I am dealing with a fraction of the information that KP has. I’m sure he knows something we don’t, like Bayless will become Chris Paul. (whistle)
My avatar is 3 years into the future for sure...
And...
A 3 million dollar TPE
Somewhere between 6 and 9 million dollars in cap room
A first round pick that will be somewhere between the 18th and 24th pick
The draft rights to Petteri Koponen
The draft rights to Joel Freeland
4 second round picks in the 2009 draft (even more in future drafts)
All of our future 1st round picks
And a great young roster that will get playoff experience this season

Do you really think that we will just sneak into the playoffs? Im not sure we are as good as are playoff position as of today would suggest but I think were a solid 5-6 seed.
I try to help with everything," Fernandez said. "If the coach says go rebound, I go rebound. I work for the team.
""If I'm playing this game to get media and attention, I shouldn't be here," Aldridge said. "I'm here to play basketball, and do what I can do to help this team win."
Just wait...
Utah, PHO, and even Houston will start turning it up a notch. I hope we can hang on, but it will be closer than most fans think.
Our overall record suggests
That we are a 5-6 seed.
Our play recently, and the uptick in play of our rivals, suggests that we’re battling for a playoff slot all the way down the stretch.

Well, it's not like our rivals are playing that great anyway.
Team Lst10 PtDiff SOS
Denver 8-2 +4.00 .488
San Antonio 6-4 +3.77 .536
Phoenix 5-5 +4.14 .424
Houston 6-4 +4.57 .443
Utah 6-4 +1.21 .519
Dallas 7-3 +1.79 .542
New Orleans 4-6 +0.85 .494
Portland 7-3 +5.57 .413
For the last 12 of so games, we have had the easiest schedule in the league. We’ve also had the best point differential among the 7 teams we’re competing with for playoff positioning. The last 10 games our record hasn’t fallen off a cliff relatively speaking. If this is a slump, the Blazers are going to be fine.
I think the loss of Blake
hurts more than we realize.
As much as the SergioFTwhatevers and the Bayless Boyz love to beat their chests about their favorite backcourt backups, the fact of the matter is that Blakie is at this point, the far superior player.
I expect one of the two to eventually surpass Blake, and my money is on Bayless—if for no other reason than he’s still young and inexperienced enough to improve via time. Sergio I think is more rapidly approaching his ceiling, though we mighit be surprised as well.
But the team still looks better with Steve at the helm.
