Kevin Martin!

I just read an article that said that the Kings are willing to offload players from their team for the right deal(salary cap relief) and at first I thought ok but obviously not Kevin Martin but I carried on reading and it mentions a possible offer from the Knicks which is; Nate Robinson and Malik Rose for Kevin Martin, but surely we can do better than that whilst still acquiring a solid SF. We could possibly acquire Gerald Wallace form the Bobcats aswell as Sean May and maybe Nazr Mohammed as fillers in the deal for Raef's expiring contract, Rodriguez and Travis Outlaw or a couple of first rounders. Also maybe we could offer Sacramento a deal offering players like Ike Diogu and Channing Frye. What do you guys think?

You know I think Sacramento just made a counter offer... Salmons and and Hawes for Roy

Also how would Martin fit on this team? No offense but nothing in your post makes any sense.

Alan Hahn has not exactly the greatest reputation

He is not a complete hack like Vecsey or Sam Smith, but pretty close. Most of the NY media like to conjure up trades that makes the Knicks better and write articles that either completely trash their guys or make Eddy Curry look like Shaq.

If they overheard a conversation between the janitor and a security officer in the arena about some trade ideas, that becomes “a source within the organization”. If they talked to the secretary of the assistant payroll keeper, that becomes “a source close to the negotiations”. You get the idea.

Martin would fit on this team because Brandon can play the point and he can slot in at the 2 whilst maybe bringing Blake and or Bayless off of the bench and we also solve our need for a solid SF, the Blazers should look to take advantage of teams who need to cut costs, I believe that KP will do what’s best for the team.

Brandon does not want to play the point.

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

I don't want him to play the point either........

……….so that takes care of that.

We would be dope with Bayless, Rudy, Roy, and Martin

I love Martin, but...

Our team needs defence and Martin is a big time chucker! Besides, it would be a waste of talent to put him in Nate’s offence.

one of the most efficient scorers in the league is now a chucker

C’mon

You're bypassing the point

that we need strong defense not scoring. Scorer, chucker, semantics.

The goal is not to be better, the goal is to be the best.

I am not bypassing the point. I am addressing one of the posters points.

What I am doing is trying to clean up a sloppy comment about a really effective offensive player. I have done the same thing when people have said BRoy is selfish on other boards.

actually

his FG% is way down this year. just sayin.

by koyote on Feb 18, 2009 11:11 AM PST up reply actions

He's done pretty poorly this year

But he’s also been dealing with a few injuries and has been struggling to return to norm.

He’ll turn it around.

He’s been not much more than a gunner though, and doesn’t have the insane efficiency he had in previous years as his saving grace. No chance he’ll be traded though, he’s all they got right now and he WILL return back to normal.

As long as he’s their best player, they’ll be in trouble. He’s a great 2nd guy out of a duo/trio, where Martin leads the team in scoring but another guy handles the whole lead the team type stuff. The Brandon Roy stuff.

He’s an awesome scorer who could maybe lead the league in scoring if he got his pizzazz back.

If He is a Chucker than so is broy

dude averages 15.0 attempts. Roy is at 17. Niether are chuckers as they shot a very good % (roys being higher) also the man gets to the line for almost 10 attempts per game.

oh and..

just so were clear I don’t really want the blazers to deal for him. (unless its a complete steal) I just don’t like how people hate on some of these guys because they don’t want them. label them as cancers, chuckers, and everything else. Sometimes its warrented but other times people have no facts to back their claims.

on a serious trade note

v.carter&s.swift for rlec*outlaw*sergio in serious discussion as we speak stay tuned.

Stromile Swift?!

I thought KP had read FreeDarko’s Basketball Almanach. The guy is a bigger locker room cancer than Stephon Marbury. If he would be in a deal and not be kept away from the team, I would fly in to Portland and egg KP’s house. At least he is an expiring contract. So technically a retreating cancer…

it's because

his 6.2,mil comes off the books this summer that’s why,so he can go after someone like r.artest/s.marion/l.odom type of smf this summer.

by fatty on Feb 18, 2009 9:10 AM PST up reply actions

Martin is a shooter

and that’s it. He doesn’t rebound. He doesn’t pass. He doesn’t defend. He doesn’t do anything but get points. We need multi-faceted players, and K-Mart doesn’t fit that mold at all.

can trade carter this summer because a lot of contenders like vince’s baller mentality ring a bell g.oden/l.aldridge,ballers mentality.
