You know what's fun?

Taking 92wastheyear’s number of comments minus yours. If 92wastheyear has more than 3000 more comments, than you have no right to criticize what is a fanpost verse fanshot.

Not necessarily

if the contract is the thing for the Nets, who knows? I would have agreed with you earlier, but after seeing a WCF finals team from last year trade their 26 year old starting center for two expiring contract backup PFs, I think money is more of a factor than I initially thought this deadline.

An admission: After the OKC game, I said some things. Stupid things. Things about Nate not knowing how to coach GO. It was only then I realized that I was in danger of becoming that which I most loathe - an uninformed, knee jerk fan who reacts to wins with wild delusions of championships and losses with trade and firing fodder. I will not be that fan. From this point on I will support the Blazers, the coaches and front office wholeheartedly, offering praise and criticism appropriate to the matter at hand. I will never again be "that guy".

Ya man

They have to be pretty tortured by now.

They’re management isn’t that bad, they’ve put together what anyone has to call a pretty good roster. They’re weak at PG, but they have really great scoring options, and good defense in Artest and Battier. But at this point, they have no hope. Their will to be a fan must be so tortured and twisted now.

Only way out of first round for T-Mac?

Second round in street clothes, oh sweet irony. (unless Blazers meet Huston in the first round in which case T-Mac fail record remains constant)

Dang It! That means we wont be trading Ike straight across for T-Mac now... :(

But seriously folks this is not necessarily a bad thing for Houston. Before T-Mac tried to make a come back (again) Von Wafer was more than filling his shoes. Think I am crazy? Do the research and ask the people over at The Dream Shake who they would rather have playing. T-Mac’s career is over and the sooner everyone comes to grips with that fact the better.

BTW Von Wafer had a solid game tonight!

From The Dream Shake:

Von Wafer — Nice to see Hot Grease find his outside shot again; he went 4-6 from three point range. He also threw himself some sick alley-oops in warmups.

If you're the rockets are you happy?

Do you use this time to finally move on and find someone new?

Face it, T Mac was a great player who never was able to do much for Houston. His injuries always seemed to kill them when it was important. I feel bad for the guy.

If you are the rockets, who do you target now? Gordon?

Answers...

1) The rockets will have mixed feelings. They have a huge amount of money tied up in T-Mac’s contract. But T-Mac hasn’t really been able to contribute much this season and Von Wafer has been sensational when T-Mac is out.

2) Yes, if at all possible they need to find help.

3) Who do they target? I will be spending some time trying to find out the answer to that question.

I am sure that they would love to have him. How? I am not sure. I did find something over at Dream Shake...

They appear to want a Vince Carter/Josh Boone for Artest/Landry/Head deal.

So I guess they are really set on winning in the next two or so years.

I realize Yao is probably at his apex, but I don’t see any quick change to this team bringing a championship. It seems like Vince Carter is just T-Mac all over again.

(Yeah, I was just using Bayless as an example player).

Dangit!

I want Battier!

This was the perfect deal to get us what we needed, a solid, dependable 3 and a backup 4. Our frontcourt would be absolutely rock solid if we pulled that off, and we could end up being the deepest team in the league.

If what I have been reading is true, Battier is almost untouchable - Sorry.

The Dream Shake crew seem to be very interested in Antawn Jamison.

I don't know why everyone is so sympathetic for the Rockets...

there team just got better. Or if not better, at least not worse. Personally I prefer Tracy McGrady shooting long jumpers trying to beat us, than more possessions for both Carl Landry and Luis Scola. Tracy McGrady is pretty much TMEC.

Another one bites the dust

Let’s try and maneuver ourselves to get Houston in the first round.

by Sabonis4Ever on Feb 17, 2009 11:22 PM PST reply actions

Ok,

here’s some more machinations courtesy of the trade machine. If the Bucks are as hungry as cap space as they appear, this might be an enticing offer for them. Essentially we’re getting Sessions/Battier/Landry for RLEC/Bayless/Trout/Webs. Houston does this because Webster can play the 2 and can shoot the 3, Outlaw can play the 4 and shoot the 3, and Scola no longer has Carl Landry breathing down his neck (also Battier is getting old so Outlaw/Webs can give them some youth).

Doing this seems to be a no brainer for us since it gives us our championship pg in sessions while keeping blake as a backup, and gives Rudy more minutes as Battier/Batum take most of the time at the 3 but we will almost inevitably see some rudy/roy time either at the 1/2 or 2/3. It also gives us our energetic backup 4 in Carl Landry. We’re giving up a lot of pieces but we’re getting pretty attractive ones back in return. Only major problems with this trade for us are Gadzuric and Bell whose contracts would destroy our flexibility, so this would be our “dynastic” all in move. If this happens, I will dance from the rooftops.

by premthegrem on Feb 17, 2009 11:37 PM PST reply actions

Bucks are only hungry for cap space so that they can pay Sessions, they won’t trade him unless they’re getting a really legit guy back

Very sorry for T-Mac

And so a promising career for a star player could end for good. The guy relies on his athleticism much more than a center coming back from microfracture. The best he can probably hope for his how Jason Kidd came back. He is a free agent in 2010. Think he will get one last big contract from a team taking the risk?
