Five trades that should happen
"Sources say that they have their choice of Wallace, Richard Jefferson or Caron Butler if they're willing to send a few young players and LaFrentz's contract. Wallace, Jefferson and Butler all have their strengths, but for the Blazers' needs, I think Wallace is the best fit."

that last line is intriguing
choice of jefferson, wallace or butler? I find it hard to believe butler can be had. but if we coud get him without giving up bayless, then that’d be an absolute no brainer.
WALLACE FTW PLEASE!!!
minus Batum add in Frye and Ike

The first deal he mentions
is a semi-crap offer from Golden State to get Chris Bosh. Beat that deal and get Bosh instead.

How specifically
Who would you, as GM, be willing to give up? Who’s untouchable? LMA redundant? Are you worried about re-signing Bosh in 2010? Is Bosh just a push to get deep into the play-offs the next two years?
Just curious…

Dave's earlier proposal
was RLEC, and LMA to Phoenix, Bosh to Portland, and Amare, Travis, and Sergio to Toronto, I believe.
Cool thanks.
I would go for that. Bosh is fun. I imagine he and Frye be hangin’. Oh, and Bosh is top tier talent at the 4.

whoa. way cool trade idea
Strangely works to the advantage of all three teams. Phoenix needs $$ relief so they get RLEC. They also get a young PF stud to replace Amare.
Know what though? Toronto kinda gets hosed in this, although they get Travis. They don’t really need Sergio or another PG, and Amare is a downgrade from Bosh for sure. Very questionable for them to say the least. Portland would have to give more than just Travis and Sergio to Toronto. Have to throw in draft picks and ca$h.
Well it’s worthwhile dreaming anyway. Not actually gonna happen. If we could get Bosh though we’d be set. Ideally we’d bring in Bosh to replace LMA and we’d add a strong slashing wingman like Gerald Wallace. Ain’t gonna happen though either.
In the end I think the move will be for a lesser guy like Salmons. Maybe Wallace and maybe R. Jefferson. But no way do we get Bosh. And now that the Suns have replaced their slowdown coach with Gentry, I doubt they will jettison Amar’e. Kind of embarassing with the awkward apostrophe in his name, but if you’re the Suns it’s hard to find equal value on the trade market.
Fatty keeps telling us our team is too soft. Probably Wallace would do more than any other possible addition to solve that problem.
The perfect is the enemy of the good.
I'm all for any solution
to get Fatty to move on to another subject.

Keep it the same but trade May for Felton

Don't tease me Chad Ford!
Wallace or Butler would make me a happy man.

Ford really makes it sound like the Blazers have a decent shot at Miller, Wallace, Jefferson, and Butler. Here’s what he has to say about Wallace.
Sources say the Blazers have intensified their focus on Wallace. He’s young, athletic and physical, and he doesn’t need to score to be an impact player. He has four years and $38 million left on his contract, which is a lot, but given his age and production the past few years, it’s not unreasonable. The problem for the Blazers is that the Bobcats want Portland to take back Nazr Mohammed as part of the deal. That could be a deal-breaker for Pritchard.
I think Wallace would be a big upgrade.
Do it now.
Honestly, I would cry with joy.

Crash...
I like his game but dude has a serious history with concussions. I don’t think he can suffer too many more without very real danger.
Give the man his "M"!!!

from what I've read
he’s now wearing a mouthguard that helps prevent concussions and has toned down his style of play somewhat. The mouthguard is a big deal… it provides considerable protection.

He got his concussions playing the 4.
At the 3 he’s safe. Honest.

I wonder if May could be a decent back up?
I remember Canzano thinking we should have drafted him before all the injury stuff.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
He's out of shape and has a bad work ethic
That was one of the major reasons they traded for Diaw. They had NO PF. Wallace was playing out of position because Larry Brown hates May. Think Ike’s game plus the body of Oliver Miller and work ethic of Jack Black in Orange County.
Well, I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
Was this trip down memory lane neccessary?
