Getting Tay Prince in an Amare deal?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bgnqr5

POR In: Prince

POR Out: Raef/Bayless

DET in: Raef/Amare

DET out: Prince/Wallace

PHX Out: Amare

PHX In: Wallace/Bayless

Star-divide

We get a perfect fit three who we want Batum to develop into long-term anyway, Prince can also play backup 4 in a pinch, and only give up Bayless.

Pistons save a grip of money and get some good young talent to perhaps build around while still retaining a lot of talent.

Phoenix saves money long term (sheed is expiring), improves their defense, and gets a solid young piece in Bayless.

Thats the simple version, and I'm still pro that...

but lets give up extra secondary assets and get Jason Maxiell as well.

Would rather not part with Bayless

and Yes, I’m one of those people who is high on him.

I think that trading for Tayshawn or Butler would be ideal defensively for this team, but I think we can get a lot better price than RLEC Bayless.

My avatar is 3 years into the future for sure...

I think it'd be worth it

for the long-term beneficial gain in experience by going deeper now.

What would be real nice…

follow it up with Andre Miller for Blake/Outlaw (to give Philly more shooting)

Miller/Sergio
Roy/Fernandez
Prince/Batum
Aldridge/Frye
Oden/Pryzbilla

I think you might be over valuing bayless

I love, him as well, but he’s proven little, while T Prince is a know commodity

by SuperMilk on Feb 16, 2009 7:11 PM PST up reply actions

but if we could toss in something else instead...why not.

Like say, Sergio and Travis…

Your mention of Maxiell

Is making me lustful. That should further our rebounding average even more.

by RecordTOs on Feb 16, 2009 7:06 PM PST up reply actions

Might as well clear out the backup PFs while we're at it...

Here’s my spin on darkhelm’s deal. We keep Bayless and acquire Prince/Maxiell.

I like this one - a lot! You should post it again in the trade thread that Dave just started.

I think it would take more...

but thats fine, I’d be willing to give up more. Throw in Outlaw. It’s not like he’ll matter if we already have both Tayshaun Prince and Jason Maxiell.

I don't understand

theres not only a trade drawer 2 spaces above this one as I’m typing this, theres another trade drawer 2 spaces below it as well…but this one is more special I guess. come quickly trade deadline. godspeed.

The Blazers as a whole are far more like my wife than like me in the sense of their physicality on defense.

The trade deadline is this week. Let's stop with the trade post whining just for this week.

No disrespect, but the trade post complaints bring me down more than all the trade posts. I want to live in happy land with John Tesh music playing in the back ground.

by Titlein2011 on Feb 16, 2009 6:56 PM PST reply actions

Unfortunatly, others of us get more fun out of fighting about anything that comes up.

With that introduction I will try to explain to you the point of the complaining. If there is only so much room in the fanpost section before we have to begin sorting through archives, then we don’t want it cluttered up by ten iterations of RLEC for Prince alone. By creating a Trade Drawer we cut down on a lot of that junk. However, people continue to post trades outside of the drawer. Those same people who didn’t like sifting through trades to find actual fan material believe that by being as brusque as possible to rebellious trade posters they just might change the trade poster’s behavior. Thus, we have chrischa’s comment above.

Will it change darkhelmit54’s behavior? I can only hope that negative reinforcement proves effective.

Fighting to John Tesh music would be even weirder, huh? Or maybe, I’m one of the crazies who believe Tesh is an alien

I get that I truly do, but the week of the deadline should receive a pass in my view.

There is nothing like a finely played piano on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Being able to witness 2 of the worlds most amazing natural wonders at once is life changing.

Thank you Entertainment Tonight for showing us the gift that is, John Tesh!

No, don't worry, I'm just playing...

I give it a pass too.

Tesh is a unique musician and I like him, but he is pretty fun to mock.

This trade is awesome.

Does Detroit need to save money though? Not sure if Amare is enough for Wallace/Prince unless they’re cutting costs. (I think AI was brought on for this reason, so maybe they are.)

Portland and Phoenix says YES without a doubt. Shoot I’d even throw Sheed/Batum into this deal since it’d make the minutes issue a lot better.

Giving up an expiring contract and a player in a position we are usually 3 deep at for a proven stud who is still young = thanks.

Giving up Jarryd Bayless is a HORRIBLE idea...

I think we could work this deal and throw out Channing, Sergio and Batum…

I can’t believe someone would honestly rather keep Batum over Bayless?

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
